  • Patent number: 7732314
Abstract: Methods for forming a metal diffusion barrier on an integrated circuit include at least four operations. The first operation deposits barrier material via PVD, ALD or CVD to provide some minimal coverage. The second operation deposits an additional barrier material and simultaneously etches a portion of the barrier material deposited in the first operation. The third operation deposits barrier material via PVD, ALD or CVD to provide some minimal coverage especially over the bottoms of unlanded vias. The forth operation deposits a metal conductive layer. Controlled etching is used to selectively remove barrier material from the bottom of vias, either completely or partially, thus reducing the resistance of subsequently formed metal interconnects. In addition, techniques to protect the bottoms of the unlanded vias are described.

  • Patent number: 7730669
Abstract: Elongate bases (10) for guiding a movable end (37) of a conductor path (30). Cross sections taken through the bases substantially normal to the elongation directions of the bases are substantially identical to one another and substantially constant along the elongation direction of the bases. Thus, the bases (10) can be obtained by cutting an elongated raw material to a specified length in conformity with a vehicle type, thereby enabling a cost reduction. Further, since the bases (10) are symmetrical with a moving path of the movable end (37) located therebetween, it is sufficient to prepare only one kind of elongated raw material. In this respect as well, costs can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 7731744
Abstract: An expandable stent is implanted in a body lumen, such as a coronary artery, peripheral artery, or other body lumen for rupturing a fibrous cap to controllably release vulnerable plaque. The invention provides for a an intravascular stent having a plurality of cylindrical rings connected by links. The stent includes struts and links of varying strengths about the circumference of the stent. The weaker struts and links require less force to open and, hence, may apply more stress to rupture the fibrous cap while the stronger struts and links protect the healthy portions of the body lumen. In another embodiment, the stent may include stress concentrators positioned on outer surfaces of the links. The stress concentrators are aligned with the fibrous cap prior to stent expansion so that upon stent expansion, the stress concentrators induce stress to rupture the fibrous cap, thereby releasing the vulnerable plaque.

  • Patent number: 7731237
Abstract: The method and device of this invention immobilizes a person in a secure, upright restraint system in a police vehicle. It can be easily and safely applied by public safety officers including police or other law enforcement personnel and medical personnel to secure a person against undesired movement while maintaining them in an upright, sitting position which leaves the diaphragm free for natural, unrestrained breathing movement. The asphyxia-preventing restraining device comprises an ALR/ELR retractor. The ALR/ELR retractor comprises a shoulder harness having a pair of seat belt buckles, which significantly reduces the possibilities of injuries to police officers.

  • Patent number: 7734802
Abstract: A collaborative electronic presentation application is disclosed allowing real-time editing of an electronic presentation. The electronic presentation is made up of a plurality of scenes, each having one or more meeting objects or pods that display various information to participating users. Some of the participating users may have presentation rights while other users may have only viewing rights. Presenters may request to edit or prepare one of the scenes that is not currently active within the electronic presentation. When requested, the preparing presenter is shown the requested scene while each of the other meeting participants remain viewing the currently active scene. The preparing presenter may then edit the selected scene or even create a new scene to add to the presentation while the electronic presentation is in progress.

  • Patent number: 7733047
Abstract: A motor controller calculates a motor torque command based on motor speed and causes a motor to generate a torque corresponding to the motor torque command, to drive a machine load coupled to the motor. The motor controller includes a speed compensator that makes, when a speed compensation torque is calculated based on the motor speed, frequency characteristics of the speed compensation torque for the motor speed exhibit a low frequency cutoff characteristic so that steady-state gain in frequency response is less than a maximum gain value. A torque adder generates a motor torque command by adding to the existing motor torque command an externally input feedforward torque signal and the speed compensation torque.

  • Patent number: 7734330
Abstract: The present technique utilizes microwave radiometry to detect the presence of vulnerable plaques engrained in the wall of a blood vessel. In accordance with the technique, an intravascular catheter containing at least one microwave antenna is moved along the suspect vessel. The antenna, in combination with an external microwave detection and display unit, is able to detect and display thermal anomalies due to the difference in the thermal emissivity (brightness) of vulnerable plaques as compared to normal tissue even though the two may have a common temperature.

  • Patent number: 7733108
Abstract: A method for perpendicular positioning of a probe card relative to a test substrate, includes storing a separation position approached in a first positioning step as a distance between the needle tips of the probe card and the substrate, storing a contact position approached in a second positioning step until the probe card contacts the substrate, and displaying an image of the needle tips. For avoiding erroneous operation after a probe card has been changed, when imaging the needle tips, the stored contact position is imaged and is changed until presentation of this contact position corresponds to actual height of the tips appropriate for the respective probe card and this setting is then stored as a new contact position. A display device presents the needle tips and the stored contact position and is connected to a memory, a recording device and an input device which changes the contact position.

  • Publication number: 20100134975
Abstract: In an electric connection box, a heat insulation wall is vertically extended in a case. This forms, between the heat insulation wall and the inner wall of the case, an ascending flow path where air can ascend and a descending flow path where air can descend. An upper communication opening and a lower communication opening that connect between the ascending flow path and the descending flow path are arranged at the upper end and the lower end, respectively, of the heat insulation wall. A relay is placed in the ascending flow path. Among the regions of the case, a region forming the descending flow path is provided with a heat radiation wall section for releasing heat of air in the descending flow path to the outside of the case.
