Abstract: A method for transferring digital pathology annotations between images of a tissue sample may include identifying a first set of points for a geometric feature of a first image of a section of a tissue sample; identifying a corresponding second set of points for a corresponding geometric feature of a second image of a same tissue sample, the second image being an image of another section of the tissue sample; determining coordinates of the first set of points and coordinates of the second set of points; determining a transformation between the first set of points and the second set of points; and applying the transformation to a set of digital pathology annotations on the first image to transfer the set of digital pathology annotations within the first image to the second image.

Abstract: Stormwater management systems, methods, and apparatuses for containing and filtering runoff are provided. Disclosed embodiments may include a top plate and a bottom plate, the top plate including a first plurality of side panel attachments. Embodiments may include a plurality of support columns between the top plate and the bottom plate. Furthermore, disclosed embodiments may also include one or more arched side panels. Stormwater management crates may be arranged into an array and include side panels of variable heights. The array of stormwater management crates may be further wrapped in sediment impervious material and serve to restrict stormwater flow as part of a stormwater management system.

Abstract: Predicting therapy from gut compositional data is described herein. In an example, a system accesses gut compositional data including a taxonomic abundance, a taxonomic diversity, and/or an enterotype for a subject. The system generates a gut microbiome signature for a safety and an efficacy of a statin therapy for the subject by applying a classifier to the gut compositional data. The safety of the statin therapy is characterized by an insulin resistance of the subject and the efficacy of the statin therapy is characterized by a blood hydroxymethylglutarate level of the subject. The system determines a recommended therapy for the subject based on the gut microbiome signature and one or more taxa of the gut compositional data of the subject. The recommended therapy is selected from a statin therapy intensity, a probiotic therapy, a prebiotic therapy, or a combination thereof. The system outputs the recommended therapy.

Abstract: Effectively allocating computing resources to end-users is provided. A system can identify mapping groups comprising a first mapping group that maps first users to corresponding first machines having a first hardware configuration, and a second mapping group that maps second users to corresponding second machines having a second hardware configuration. The system can determine a first metric indicating computing resource utilization of a first machine of the first machines when executing one or more sessions of a first user in the first mapping group, and a second metric indicating computing capacity of the second machines. The system can re-map the first user from the first mapping group to the second mapping group to cause sessions of the first user to execute on a second machine of the second machines.

Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of apparatuses and methods that include an improved double sleeve plunger. In an exemplary embodiment, the improved double sleeve plunger includes an outer sleeve, and inner sleeve, and a clutch, whereby the clutch retards movement of the inner sleeve relative to the outer sleeve between and open and closed position of the plunger.

Abstract: A method is provided for localizing an underwater vehicle using acoustic ranging. The method includes receiving, using an acoustic receiver, a time series signal based on one or more acoustic signals transmitted from an acoustic source having a known location; determining a travel time of the waveform from the known location of the acoustic source to the acoustic receiver; and determining a range of the underwater vehicle with respect to the acoustic source based on the travel time of the waveform and a sound speed field taken along a ray trajectory extending from the known location of the acoustic source and intersecting with the acoustic receiver at an expected arrival time and depth of the acoustic signal at the underwater vehicle.

Abstract: A vaccine is disclosed that promotes CD4+ T cell-independent host defense mechanisms to defend against infection by fungi such as Pneumocystis spp. The vaccine may be used to prevent or to treat fungal infections. The novel vaccine can provide protective immunity, even for immunocompromised individuals such as HIV patients having reduced levels of CD4+ T cells.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system, comprising: a first server computing device configured to store various application data relating to the system, and control a first plurality of modules to simultaneously establish multiple logically separate and secure networks within a self-supported computing environment; a second server computing device configured to control a second plurality of modules to perform out-of-band management of the system; and a third server computing device configured to control a third plurality of modules to control inbound and outbound data traffic of the logically separate and secure networks. The system is scalable by at least adding additional one or more first server computing devices to host additional application data within the self-supported computing environment’s secure configuration and logical separation of networks while maintaining the second and third server computing devices.

Abstract: A stacked patch antenna is expandable from a thinner stowed configuration in which the gaps between the conductor layers are reduced, to a thicker deployed configuration in which the gaps are expanded to their required dimensions. The expansion mechanism can include rotation of threaded rods, pneumatic expansion of telescoping rods, and/or injection of a gas, a chemical sublimate, and/or an expandable foam into the gaps. In embodiments, the stowed thickness of the antenna can be approximately equal to the sum of the thicknesses of the conductor panels. In some of these embodiments high dielectric layers are not included. In other of these embodiments high dielectric layers are formed by filling gaps with a high dielectric foam. Embodiments implement aperture coupling to the stacked patch antenna. An array of the stacked patch antennae can be folded about a satellite until deployment, and can be planar when unfolded and deployed.

Abstract: A solid state cooler device is disclosed that comprises a first normal metal pad, a first aluminum layer and a second aluminum layer disposed on the first normal metal pad and separated from one another by a gap, a first aluminum oxide layer formed on the first aluminum layer, and a second aluminum oxide layer formed on the second aluminum layer, and a first superconductor pad disposed on the first aluminum oxide layer and a second superconductor pad disposed on the second aluminum oxide layer. The device further comprises a first conductive pad coupled to the first superconductor pad, and a second conductive pad coupled to the second superconductor pad, wherein hot electrons are removed from the first normal metal pad when a bias voltage is applied between the first conductive pad and the second conductive pad.
