Abstract: A guillotine type stud cutter with a frame with side rails and a guillotine blade slidably mounted between the rails has spaced, fixed, parallel, stationary die plates secured transversely between the side rails. Immediately inboard of the stationary die plates, sets of spaced parallel shear plates are slideably mounted for movement transversely of the side rails and toward and away from one another. The shear plates have opening defined by wall margins with sharp edges substantially perpendicular to an inside surface of the shear blades, to receive sheet metal studs of different sizes.
