Patent number: 8496008Abstract: An oral device for use in radiotherapy of the head and neck includes a base member and a bite member or “mouthpiece,” which is selectively positionable relative to the base member. The device provides immobilization of the tongue for accurate reproducible administration of radiation therapy. The device fits within the oral cavity of a patient and is maintained in position by a bite member that fits over the maxillary teeth of the patient. The position of the bite member relative to the base member may be adjustable to accommodate differences in mouth cavities and bite profiles. For example, the base member may include a platform or series of members configured to be removably coupled to the bite member in multiple different positions.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2010Date of Patent: July 30, 2013Assignee: Oncologics, Inc.Inventors: Tony Westbrook, Sheila Wartelle, Grover Bass

Patent number: 6468503Abstract: A method for the treatment of cancer is disclosed which is capable of directing supra-lethal doses of radiation, called Hot-Spots, virtually exclusively to the cancer. The present invention involves a multi-step therapy process and includes a class of novel chemical agents. In accordance with the present invention, it was discovered that soluble precipitable materials can be made to accumulate as non-digestible precipitates in targeted cells as a result of enzyme action within the targeted cells. Accumulation is achieved by administering to the living host a soluble binary reagent made by attaching a targeting agent to a novel chemical agent which is a soluble precipitable material. The binary reagent binds to antigenic receptors on targeted cells which endocytose the binary reagent and transport it into the lysosomes where enzymes detach the soluble precipitable material from the targeting agent, causing it to precipitate, accumulate, and be retained in the cells.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1999Date of Patent: October 22, 2002Assignee: Oncologic, Inc.Inventor: Samuel Rose

Patent number: 5904924Abstract: The new nutritional powder composition of the invention is a blend of natural food and herbal products which is compounded in dry form into a green nutritional powder mixture which is readily soluble in a fluid for ingestion by humans. When digested, the mixture provides users with an energy boost and associated feelings of well being when the mixture is taken as part of a regular regimen to supplement normal nutritional intakes and to supplement any therapeutic processes to which the users may be subject.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1997Date of Patent: May 18, 1999Assignee: Oncologics, Inc.Inventors: Mitchell L.
