Abstract: The present subject matter relates to a method and a system for selecting a ring back tone to be provided to a caller. The method comprising selecting, by a subscriber, an editable audio file with a predetermined duration; encrypting the selected editable audio file on a storage device; communicating, by a communication interface, a start time of the selected editable audio file to the server, the server transcodes and smoothens the selected portion of the editable audio file; transferring, by the server, the transcoded audio file to the mobile operator network as a ring back tone.

Abstract: A system and method for compensating subscribers for permitting playing of advertisements as ring back tones and direct activation of advertised services is provided. The method includes receiving by a telecommunication service provider a call initiated by a caller. The method further includes establishing status of at least one of caller and callee by checking home location register of the telecommunication service provider. Establishing status includes determining RBT subscription status of caller and callee. Depending on the RBT subscription status of caller and callee, the call is transferred to a tone player within RBT system of at least one of caller and callee. A compensation system then selects a media file to be played to caller based on RBT to Advertisement ratios of subscribers. The selected media file may be an RBT file or an advertisement message, which is then played to the caller.

Abstract: This present invention disclosure relates to a method for playing music prior to establishing a phone call. It specifically relates to music discovery and playing the music for around 8 seconds, when a person makes a call from his mobile phone. Since music is played from the user's phone, there is no telecom network integration required. Additionally, the disclosure provides discovering songs based on user's context and collecting the songs thereof.

Abstract: A method of delivering a video ringback media stream to a first terminal includes transmitting a session signaling message from the first terminal to a ringback server, transmitting a session signaling response message from the ringback server to the first terminal, and establishing one or more channels between the ringback server and the first terminal. The method also includes establishing one or more media streams between a content device and the ringback server and processing the one or more media streams in the ringback server to form a video ringback media stream. The method further includes transmitting the video ringback media stream from the ringback server to the first terminal, transmitting a second session signaling message from the ringback server to a second terminal, and transmitting a second session signaling response message associated with answering a call from the second terminal to the ringback server.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for providing Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) services is provided. The computer-implemented method comprises the steps of configuring a cross-operator USSD module for receiving one or more service requests sent to a cross-operator number by one or more communication devices associated with one or more telecommunication service providers. The cross-operator USSD module further processes the one or more service requests for generating one or more interactive USSD menus based on information retrieved from the one or more service requests and one or more pre-defined rules. Furthermore, the cross-operator USSD module renders the one or more interactive USSD menus on the one or more communication devices, wherein the one or more interactive USSD menus facilitate one or more users of the one or more communication devices to avail the USSD services.

Abstract: A method for providing access to a socio-RBT service is provided. The socio-RBT service enables updating social networking website profile of a user with RBT related information of the user. The method enables, firstly, receiving socio-RBT subscription information from the user. The socio-RBT subscription information comprises at least one unique identifier of the user. Secondly, the method enables verifying one or more predetermined conditions related to the user. The one or more predetermined conditions facilitate to determine if the user is eligible to access the socio-RBT service. Further, the method enables mapping the unique identifier of the user with a unique identifier of the user's social networking website profile. The method further enables obtaining RBT subscription information corresponding to the mapped unique identifier of the user.

Abstract: A system and a method for streaming audio data to a plurality of callers in a telecommunication system have been disclosed. The system facilitates streaming of audio data to a plurality of callers by establishing a single connection with an audio data publisher. The system receives the audio data from the audio data publisher over the internet or a similar network and streams the audio data to a plurality of callers over a telecommunication network. The audio data can be streamed to a caller as a ring-back tone of a callee.

A first embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus and a method for a Reduced-Algorithmic-Delay Media Stream Unit Conversion module which is a light weight Simple Pass-Through operation. A second embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus and a method for a Reduced-Algorithmic-Delay Video Rate Conversion. An alternative embodiment provides an apparatus and a method for a Smart Pass-Through Operation which involves switching between the Simple Pass-Through and the Rate Converter. The methods and apparatuses provided by the first and second embodiment can be used as a stand alone system, or as part of the module of the alternative embodiment.

Subsequently, individual multimedia streams are received from participating multimedia clients. The host multimedia stream is processed and transmitted to the participating clients. A second element indicative of presence of the multimedia conferencing session is transmitted by the participating clients to the host multimedia client and to each other. The individual multimedia streams are processed separately and transmitted to the host multimedia client and to the participating multimedia clients.

The second telecommunication service provider sends a request to the first telecommunication service provider to provide a CI id associated with a caller profile of the caller. The request is routed through a global broker. An RBT player of the second telecommunication service provider plays the CI message corresponding to the CI id as ring-back tone to the caller.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing transcoding between bitstreams coded by hybrid video codecs which uses fewer resources than decoding/decompressing the original bitstream and recoding/recompressing it to the second format. According to a specific embodiment, the present method can exploits the similarity of the standard video compression algorithms to, where possible, convert encoded parameters in the incoming bitstreams directly into encoded parameters which constitute compliant data for the outgoing bitstream.
