    Abstract: A hair washing apparatus including a cistern having an opening on an upper part thereof, into which a person under hair washing inserts his head while lying on his back and a neck receiving part for receiving a neck of the person, the neck receiving part provided at an entering edge part of the cistern, wherein the neck receiving part comprises a board having a plurality of slits or small holes. The cistern includes a wash water spouting means for spouting wash water toward an underside part of the neck receiving part, and the wash water spouting means includes a rotatable water supply pipe having a plurality of spouts and a lever provided on the water supply pipe. The lever allows for rotation of the water supply pipe about the longitudinal axis thereof to adjust a spouting angle of the wash water.

    Abstract: A method of operating an automatic hair washer from initiation of a washing cycle to termination of the washing cycle including the step of pumping water from a hot water storing tank to a flow diversion control mechanism. At the initiation of a hair washing cycle, a portion of the water is transported through a delivery pipe to washing nozzles of the hair washer while the remainder of the water is simultaneously transported through a flow dividing pipe back to the hot water storing tank. After initiation of the hair washing cycle is completed, the flow diversion control mechanism is adjusted to direct all of the water to the delivery pipe.

    Abstract: An automatic hair washer having a basin including nozzles for spouting wash water, a hot water storing tank, a pump for pumping wash water at a predetermined hydraulic pressure from the hot water storing tank to the nozzles, a delivery pipe for delivering wash water from the hot water storing tank to the pump and from the pump to the nozzles, a three-way valve provided in the delivery pipe between the nozzles and the pump, a flow dividing pipe for delivering water from the three-way valve to the hot water storing tank, and a controller for the three-way valve such that at the initiation of a washing cycle the three-way valve diverts a portion of the wash water in the delivery pipe back to the hot water storing tank via the flow dividing pipe while simultaneously feeding the remainder of the wash water in the delivery pipe to the nozzles.
