The gripper is further provided with a radial, axial centring portion configured to abut against the front surface of at least one radial jaw when the tools and jaws are axially aligned but still disengaged, so that the subsequent axial advancement of the jaws is accompanied by a simultaneous axial reversing of the gripper.
