Abstract: In order to optimize efficiency of deserialization, a serialization cache is maintained at an object server. The serialization cache is maintained in conjunction with an object cache and stores serialized forms of objects cached within the object cache. When an inbound request is received, a serialized object received in the request is compared to the serialization cache. If the serialized byte stream is present in the serialization cache, then the equivalent object is retrieved from the object cache, thereby avoiding deserialization of the received serialized object. If the serialized byte stream is not present in the serialization cache, then the serialized byte stream is deserialized, the deserialized object is cached in the object cache, and the serialized object is cached in the serialization cache.
Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium for providing application isolation to one or more applications and their associated resources. The system may include one or more isolated environments including application files and executables, and one or more interception layers intercepting access to system resources and interfaces. Further, the system may include an interception database maintaining mapping between the system resources inside the one or more isolated environments and outside, and a host operating system. The one or more applications may be isolated from other applications and the host operating system while running within the one or more isolated environments.
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for processing a database query between one or more clients and one or more databases. The database query, which is formatted using a first protocol, is received from one of the clients. One of the databases is selected to process the database query and the database query is translated from the first protocol to a second protocol. The translated database query is then sent to the selected database for processing. A response to the database query, which is formatted using the second protocol, is received from the selected database and the response is translated from the second protocol to the first protocol. The present invention determines which of the clients sent the database query and sends the translated response to the client that sent the database query. This method can be implemented as a computer program embodied on a computer readable medium.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of performing a data transmission from an electronic device or a peripheral device of an electronic device to a peripheral device of a remote electronic device is disclosed. One example method of performing the data transmission may include transmitting data designated for the remote peripheral device to a local virtual device object. The data that is received by the local virtual device object is transmitted via at least one communication interface or peripheral device of the electronic device to at least one remote communication interface or peripheral device of the remote electronic device. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a technique for analyzing data records using a touch screen interface. A touch event is received from the touch screen interface. In response to receiving the touch event, at least one data record is selected from a plurality of data records in a time chart, the time chart including at least one time line relating to at least one data object, the plurality of data records being plotted on the at least one time line based on a time parameter of each of the plurality of data records. Information relating to the selected at least one data record is processed based on the time parameter.
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a technique for generating simultaneous zoom in windows on a touch sensitive device. A first portion of the user content is zooming into by touching the display screen in a proximity of the first portion using the touch input device while retaining an original zoom size of a first remaining portion of the user content. Abstract: A process and system are directed to generating a medium without user involvement in supplying the content. A user makes a series of increasingly granular selections to specify the type of medium to be built, such as a webpage. A query-reply communications protocol is used to identify relevant content for building the webpage from network resources. A resource is queried to determine whether the resource contains any relevant content. The response from the resource, if affirmative, includes the requested content. The query communications are formulated to conduct a keyword type search of the resource. The resource response includes the search results.

Abstract: In a method for accessing files in an electronic device, a Random Access Memory (RAM) disk is set-up to store the file system root of the electronic device. At least one file system to be mounted is discovered in the electronic device. Mount points are established on the RAM disk for each file system. Drive identifiers are assigned for each file system. A file access request comprising a first file name path comprising a drive identifier is detected. The drive identifier is mapped to a mount point and a second file name path based on the mount point and the first file name path is formed. Thereupon, a file is accessed using the second file name path in the electronic device.
Abstract: The present invention is a system and method of enrolling potential system users for a biometric system for identity verification. Potential system user information is entered into the system, either by the user or a system operator, and is stored as a partially-enabled user record. The user of a partially-enabled user record fully enables the record by presenting information previously stored in the user record and presenting the remainder of user information necessary to complete record activation. Enrollment data is used to authenticate the system user's identity and authorize related transaction accesses in a biometric system for identity verification.

Abstract: In a typical network setup, a networked capable device interfaces to either one wired network hub or to a wireless network hub. According to one example a method may include transmitting a notification from a mobile station to an advertisement server and receiving at least one advertisement parameter at the mobile station responsive to the transmitted notification. Abstract: A system and method for storage checkpointing to a group of independent computer applications. The system has a storage disk that stores files; a storage access interface to access the storage disk; and a computer. The computer runs the group of independent computer applications and utilizes the files stored on the storage disk. A file system on the server accesses the files stored on the storage disk. An operating system and at least one device driver can be called by the file system, and at least one buffer buffers first data written to the storage disk and second data read from the storage disk.
