Abstract: A method of remotely managing a fielded device with a device management system (DMS). Via a processor, a DMS directive can be received on the fielded device. The DMS directive can include at least one system command for a DMS agent instantiated on the fielded device and intelligence information not previously stored on the fielded device that is necessary for the DMS agent to interpret the system command. Via the processor the DMS agent can be executed to process the system command using the intelligence information provided in the DMS directive to implement the system command without requiring an update to computer-readable program code that defines the DMS agent.

Abstract: Telephony and digital media services may be provided to a plurality of locations, such as to a plurality of homes and offices, though the deployment of telephony and digital media services devices to the locations, wherein each device is configured to function as a voice, data and media information center. A system in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention includes an application store and an application intelligence subsystem implemented on one or more computers. Each of the application store and the application intelligence subsystem is communicatively connected via a network to a plurality of such telephony and digital media services devices. The application store is operable to provide applications via the network for installation and execution on each of the plurality of devices. The application intelligence subsystem is operable to obtain and report information about applications installed and executed on each of the plurality of devices.

Abstract: A method of self-healing a communication network is described herein. In particular, a plurality of message addresses can be registered with a publisher, and notifications from the publisher for the message addresses can be received. In addition, the notifications received from the publisher for the message addresses can be time-stamped. A notification interval for the message addresses can be monitored in which the interval may be based on a predetermined amount of time. The time-stamps of the received notifications can be compared to the notification intervals to determine whether a disruption in the receipt of the notifications for at least some of the message addresses has occurred. If a disruption has been determined to have occurred, the message addresses that have been affected by the disruption can be deleted. The deleted message addresses can then be re-registered with the publisher to restore the receipt of the notifications from the publisher for the affected message addresses.

Abstract: A method and system for selectively displaying calendar information on a secure calendar application in an environment designed to restrict secure applications from processing requests from non-secure applications are described herein. In particular, calendar information can be selectively accessed from a non-secure calendar application in accordance with a sync setting that is enforceable against the calendar information. The calendar information from the non-secure calendar application can be imported into a secure calendar application. In addition, the imported calendar information can be displayed as part of the user interface of the secure calendar application when the secure calendar application is activated.

Abstract: A method and system for enabling the sharing of information between a first application and a second application on a computing device are described herein. The method includes the steps of receiving a global search request through the first application and—in response to the reception of the global search request—prompting for a search term from a user. The method further includes the steps of receiving the search term and—based on the received search term—automatically presenting one or more corresponding candidate elements associated with the second application for selection by the user. In addition, the method includes the steps of receiving the selection of at least one of the candidate elements and linking the selected candidate element with the first application such that a user may access the selected candidate element from the first application.

Abstract: A method of, and a processing system for, creating distinct user spaces. In a platform originally intended to be a single user platform, for each of a plurality of users, a first application used by the user can be assigned a user identifier (UID) unique to the user and the first application. The first UID can be associated with user data exclusively associated with the user and the first application to create a multi-user platform.
