Patent number: 8123474Abstract: A technique for refurbishing nozzle diaphragm sections of a gas turbine replaces an eroded section of the nozzle diaphragm with a replacement part designed to engage a slot machined in the nozzle diaphragm. The replacement part is formed of a material with capable of sustained exposure to higher temperature than the original eroded section, and with a similar coefficient of expansion as the material used for manufacture the original nozzle diaphragm. The combination of the nozzle diaphragm and the replacement part conform to the original manufacturer's dimensional specifications for the nozzle diaphragm.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2009Date of Patent: February 28, 2012Assignees: Dresser-Rand Company, Calpine Operating Services, Inc.Inventors: Gregory R. Publication number: 20100065370Abstract: The present invention concerns a device for securing persons on maintenance work on aircraft surfaces, having a cable (2) stretched over the wing surface (1). In order to produce such a device or to provide such a device that it is essentially easier and cheaper than current vacuum retaining devices, wherein however under no circumstances the aircraft structures which are loaded by the device are loaded beyond an admissible threshold, in accordance with the invention, the cable (2) is stretched between a defined first anchor point (3) on the fuselage (4) above the wing surface (1) and a second defined anchor point (5) on the upper side of the wing surface (1) close to the end of the wing surface, wherein a damping device (7) is provided between the first and second anchor points (3, 5), whereby tensile forces occurring in the cable cause a defined lengthening of the cable.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 10, 2009Publication date: March 18, 2010Applicant: Lufthansa Engineering and Operational Services GmbHInventor: Heiko Frauendorf

Publication number: 20070251695Abstract: A sub-sea well intervention vessel includes a dynamically positionable tanker and direct well intervention equipment mounted on the tanker deck. The intervention equipment includes drilling equipment for performing underbalanced drilling and hydrocarbon liquid separation. A separate production riser is provided so that simultaneous drilling and production can be performed via separate risers. The driller riser is selectively disconnectable from the well so that the tanker can be dynamically repositioned over the well. A turret mooring system is provided such that the production riser can remain in operation during repositioning about the turret. The hydrocarbon liquid separator is connected to a separator of the production plant.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2006Publication date: November 1, 2007Applicant: Multi Operational Service Tankers IncInventors: Anthony Patrick Haynes, John Ernest Boyle, Colin Jones

Patent number: 6594352Abstract: A telephone network capable of handling directory assistance calls includes a switch, connection circuitry coupled between the switch and a directory assistance center, and call origination circuitry. In response to receipt of a incoming directory assistance call from the switch, the connection circuitry connects the incoming directory assistance call to the directory assistance center. Following receipt of a requested telephone number from the directory assistance center, the call origination circuitry originates an extension call to the requested telephone number on the public telephone network and transmits, in conjunction with the extension call, at least a billing identifier captured from the incoming directory assistance call. In this manner, the switch is able to automatically associate the extension call with the billing identifier captured from the incoming directory assistance call.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1999Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Assignee: Operator ServiceInventor: Michael R. Patent number: 6381325Abstract: A method of providing wireless directory assistance service includes the steps of receiving a call placed by a caller at a telecommunications carrier switch, routing the call to a call management platform coupled to the telecommunications carrier switch. A directory assistance service provider is contacted via the telecommunications carrier switch or via a frame relay network. The call is then split from the call to the directory assistance service provider. The call management platform then receives a destination number from the directory assistance service provider and supplies it to the caller in a voice announcement. The destination number may be received in-band or via the frame relay network. The call management platform waits a predetermined time period and then automatically connects the call to the destination number via the telecommunications carrier switch if the call has not been disconnected within the predetermined time period.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1998Date of Patent: April 30, 2002Assignee: Operator Service Co.Inventor: Daniel A.
