Abstract: An arrangement associated with a Bandwidth Manager, BM, adapted to reserve and return network resources requested from a first entity in a data network. The arrangement includes a first message rate limiter element (301) adapted to limit the rate of reservations request messages to the BM, a second message rate limiter element (302) adapted to limit the rate of resource return messages to the BM, and at least one message rate estimator unit (303) adapted to adjust the message rate limiters between the reservation request signalling peak rate and sustained rates defined for the communication between the BM and a second entity.
Abstract: A Bandwidth Manager, BM, entity connectable to a Bandwidth Manager system (300) adapted to serve clients having knowledge about performed resource reservations and including a plurality of Bandwidth Manager, BM, entities hierarchically connected in multiple levels, wherein one or more BMs is/are located at each level. Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a node for controlling the forwarding quality in a data network. The data network comprising a measurement manager comprising means for performing measurements in said data network and a Network Resource Manager, NRM, comprising means for obtaining information of the network topology. The method comprises the steps of: detecting potentially overloaded paths or individual out-interfaces by using a detecting-method, selecting one or more nodes where measurements are to be performed based on the detected potentially overloaded paths or individual out-interfaces, and measuring quality metrics in the selected nodes.
