Patents Assigned to Optima Spanntechnik GmbH
  • Patent number: 5333543
Abstract: In a ram locking device for securing the ram of a chipless forming machine, more particularly a heavy press, wherein the tool-carrying ram, movable up and down in the press frame relative to the bed of the press, is supported by the head of an axially adjustable tension rod, the unlocking, more particularly the release of the tension rod, is improved if the tension rod is statically cushioned and is automatically pressure-relieved as the release begins.

  • Patent number: 4697800
Abstract: A clamping device, for use for example for clamping a tool or workpiece in position in a machine tool comprises a clamping anchor to which a clamping force is applied by a hydraulically operated cylinder. The device also includes a screw operated compensating or back-up unit which acts on the piston of the hydraulic cylinder. The compensating unit is driven by the same hydraulic system as the hydraulic cylinder and when the piston has been moved hydraulically to apply the clamping force to the anchor, a screw component of the compensating unit moves into engagement with the piston to lock the piston in position and maintain the clamping force even if the hydraulic pressure on the piston is then released.

  • Patent number: 4627603
Abstract: A clamping device which is arranged to clamp a workpiece to a table or stand, and which does not obstruct the clamping region of the table or stand, has a fluid pressure-loaded clamping piston slidably mounted in a main housing with toggle levers on either side thereof bearing against oppositely situated saddle bearings at the sides of the housing. The toggle levers are moved by the clamping piston between an inclined position and an extended position and load a clamping or pulling anchor which is mounted on the housing. The clamping or pulling anchor is pivotally mounted on a clamping lever so that it can swing through a maximum of 180.degree. from a clamping position into a release position in which it is well clear of the workpiece. The anchor is fitted onto a bearing pin, which is disposed in an end, which projects from the housing, of the clamping lever which is pivotally mounted in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4565357
Abstract: A quick-acting clamping device for clamping tools or workpieces in machine tools comprises a piston which is slidable transversely to the clamping direction and which acts on a toggle mechanism which in turn moves a clamping piece. A pressure plate upon which the toggle mechanism acts is displaceable in the clamping direction in a housing which contains the transverse piston. The fluid under pressure which acts on the transverse piston to activate the toggle mechanism also acts directly on the pressure plate to assist in clamping. Because of the assisting force produced by the pressure plate it is possible for the transverse piston to move the members of the toggle mechanism from starting positions in which they lie at large angles to the clamping direction, that is with a big angular displacement from their dead-center position, in which they initially exert only a small force on the clamping piece.

  • Patent number: 4347754
Abstract: In a force amplifier, supporting members extend between a pressure plate and a countersupport plate. At each plate the supporting members bear against end bolts and intermediate the plates the support members bear against joint bolts. A spreader bolt extends through the countersupport plate and has a spreader head located between the joint bolts. The surfaces of the spreader bolt contacting the joint bolts are concavely shaped.
