  • Patent number: 8045423
Abstract: A search method of efficiently retrieving information is provided. A search light 21 is generated from a search condition (S1). The search light is irradiated onto a hologram 104a recorded in a hologram recording layer 104 (S2). When the search light interferes with the hologram and a reproduction light is generated, address information of the hologram from which the reproduction light is generated is identified using an address light 23 that reads the address information. The identified address light is recorded (S3). When the search light does not generate the reproduction light from the hologram, the search light is irradiated onto another hologram 104b recorded in the hologram recording layer.

  • Patent number: 7719952
Abstract: An optical information recording medium having a structure in which irregular reflection of information light and recording/reproducing light from the reflective layer of an optical information record medium is prevented, thereby reducing the noise appearing on the reproduced image. The optical information recording medium for recording information by holography comprises a transparent substrate, a recording layer where information is recorded by an interference pattern, and a filter layer formed between the transparent substrate and the recording layer and adapted to transmit a light of a first wavelength and reflect a light of a second wavelength. The filter layer of the thus structured optical information recording medium transmits a light of the first wavelength (for example, red light) and reflects a light of the second wavelength (for example, green light). As a result, two lights of different wavelengths can be separated and used for different purposes without being influenced by each other.

  • Patent number: 7706233
Abstract: An optical-disk recording method, recording apparatus and reproducing apparatus are provided which are capable of continuously recording/reproducing a hologram with ultra-high density. In the case of recording a hologram to a holographic recording area, a holographic recording spot HSP on one track of the holographic recording area and a holographic recording spot HSP on a track adjacent thereto are recorded in circumferentially different positions. At least one holographic recording spot HSP is formed on each track, making the process continuous. Recording is made such that, provided that the holographic recording spot HSP has a diameter D and a multiplex number of holographic recording spots HSP is m, a pitch P between adjacent holographic recording spots HSP is P=D/m. Consequently, it is possible to efficiently record a hologram with density to a holographic recording area of an optical disk recording medium, and to achieve the density increase of holographic recording capacity.

  • Patent number: 7215628
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to allow the use of a practical light source to record information in each information recording area of a recording medium having a plurality of information recording areas through the use of holography while moving the recording medium. When recording information in the information recording areas (7) of the recording medium, the irradiating position (101) of information light and recording-specific reference light is moved such that the irradiating position (101) follows a single moving information recording area (7) for a predetermined period. Consequently, the single information recording area (7) keeps being irradiated with the information light and the recording-specific reference light for the predetermined period. Information is thus recorded in this information recording area (7) in the form of an interference pattern as a result of interference between the information light and the recording-specific reference light.
