  • Patent number: 6101767
Abstract: A structural termination system includes a one-piece elongated structural member having an outer wall and a horizontal bottom wall defining a lower surface having substantially the same contour as an upper surface of an associated building wall, wherein the building wall is characterized by the absence of a wood nailer structure adjacent the upper surface of the building wall. The structural member further includes a drip edge extending downwardly from the outer wall such that the outer wall and drip edge cooperate to define an integral fascia. Structural adhesive is disposed on the lower surface of the elongated structural member and securely bonds the structural member directly to an upper surface of an associated building wall without a wood nailer structure or mechanical fasteners along the structural member.

  • Patent number: 5940554
Abstract: A method for coupling light from an input optical fiber into a selected one of a plurality of output optical fibers includes the steps of forming the input optical fiber to include a length of beam expanded fiber, arranging the plurality of output optical fibers in an array and moving an end of the input optical fiber into alignment with a selected one of the plurality of output optical fibers.

  • Patent number: 5113733
Abstract: An adjustable angular shearing device (10) in accordance with the invention is adapted to transversely shear sheet material from a continuous strip in a punch press. The device (10) has an upper punch (24) which coacts wtih a lower die (28) to shear sheet material passing between them. The punch (24) comprises a pair of members (32, 34) which coact with a pair of corresponding members (74, 76) on a lower die (28). The members rotate about aligned posts (26, 30) at the vertex of an angle. The rotation of the members about each respective post is selectively adjustable. A chevron-shaped part can be stamped from a continuous strip of sheet material by two successive stamps of the punch press.

  • Patent number: 5066958
Abstract: A dual frequency feed assembly employing a pair of coaxial circular wave guide cavities, each with respective probe. The higher frequency cavity, e.g. Ku band, is located within the lower frequency, e.g. C band cavity. A common motor is used to drive the two probes which have a common axis A. The lower frequency probe is coupled through the rear wall of the assembly to a rectangular waveguide. The higher frequency probe is also coupled through the rear wall of the assembly but via a coaxial line which is diverted from the axis A to exit beside the lower frequency waveguide. The two rectangular waveguides and the drive motor for the probes are all mounted on the rear of the assembly. In one embodiment of the invention the coaxial line extends from its probe to a housing on the body containing a signal processing circuit board. Connection to that board is made directly eliminating the need for any waveguide transmission line.

  • Patent number: 5008595
Abstract: Ornamental and decorative light display utilizing LEDs constructed of two or more individual diodes. Each diode or portion of a diode is alternately selected and energized at a sufficient frequency that colors can blend to produce another color. The system provides for an extremely large configuration of LEDs to be driven at a low average power and at the same time to allow the user to select individual lights to be constantly illuminated or flash in response on oscillating voltage source or allow multicolored patterns to be generated using bicolor LEDs.

  • Patent number: 4235181
Abstract: A control system for automatic actuation of an exhaust blower associated with an internal combustion inboard marine engine. The control system includes a starter interlock circuit which prevents engine starting for a predetermined period of time to allow the blower to exhaust explosive fumes from the engine compartment and a low speed actuation circuit which operates in response to detection of engine speed below a predetermined level to actuate the exhaust blower. Also included is a emergency override of the starter interlock circuit.
