Abstract: A utility is provided for generating applications for a variety of data conversion or handling application environments. A user can use a graphical user interface to purpose application adaptable modules to define a desired application. In one implementation, the user interface (1500) includes a node tree panel (1502) and a process assembly panel (1504). The node tree panel (1502) lists tool sets (1508) including transformations, maps and input-output tools. These tools can then be assembled together with identified data sources and then elements using the assembly panel (1504) to define an application. In this manner, an application is generated from a number of generic modules simply by linking the modules to perform a purpose of the desired application. Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with selective tag-based file backup and recovery are described. One example method includes selectively tagging a file for inclusion in a snapshot-based backup image by associating a tag with the file. The associating may include encoding file metadata with a tag. The method may include selectively adding a file to the backup image upon determining that the file has experienced a write event and that the file is associated with a tag. The method may also include receiving a request to provide a recovery file from the backup image and selectively providing the recovery file upon determining that the recovery file is associated with a recovery tag specified in the request.

Abstract: A method, software application and computer system provides computer language interpretations and optimization for web server testing by first recording user actions associated with an instance of a user interaction with a web server. The actions are analyzed to determine a collection of actions which alter communications with the server or have side effects which alter a future communication with the server. A test program is generated from the collection of actions. The test program is used to perform one or more of functional, load, and monitoring testing of a web server.

Abstract: Systems, methods, media, and other embodiments associated with (non)contiguous n-gram based spell correction are described. One exemplary system embodiment includes logic for creating contiguous and non-contiguous trigrams, logic for creating an inverted index relating trigrams and the words from which they were generated, and logic for comparing trigrams associated with a word to spell check to trigrams associated with the words selected using the inverted index.

Abstract: A charting application generates a so-called timelink chart. To generate the timelink chart, the charting application renders a timeline axis representing a segment of time. The charting application further renders a business event axis in (orthogonal) relation to the timeline axis. Positions on the business event axis indicate respective types of business events that can occur. For each of multiple business events associated with a respective business activity, the charting application generates a corresponding event instance with respect to the business event axis and the timeline axis to indicate a type associated with a respective business event of the multiple business events and when the respective business event occurs in time. In a final step, the charting application generates a graphical link connecting multiple event instances (associated with the respective business activity) in the timelink chart to display a progression of the respective business activity over time.

One example system includes input logic for receiving a query. The example system may include a relaxation logic configured to produce sub-queries from the query. The sub-queries may describe metadata string matching, content string matching, and/or metadata numerical attribute analysis. The sub-queries may be provided by an output logic to a search engine in an order that facilitates defining document relevance without requiring post-retrieval relevance ranking.

One example system includes logic for exposing a set of interface actions to support a user-defined aggregate in a materialized view associated with a base table. The materialized view may store both the user-defined aggregate and a user-defined aggregate context that facilitates logically connecting the user-defined aggregate to the base table. The example system may also include logic for supporting the user-defined aggregate. The support may be based on the set of interface actions. Example systems and methods may, therefore, facilitate incremental updating of the materialized view and/or rewriting a query to access the materialized view.

Abstract: Systems, methods, computer-readable media and other embodiments are provided that relate to processing database queries. In one embodiment, a query analysis logic can be configured to analyze a query to identify multiple instances of the same table. Instance numbering for the multiple table instances can then be performed using the query structure such that equivalent queries will likely get the same instance number assignments to improve materialized view recommendations for queries.

One example method includes receiving a query on a partitioned table that will result in a first query plan that includes accessing a local domain index on each partition in the database. The system can include a scan logic configured to scan the executable software code to determine an execution trigger point in the executable software code. The effort based relevance may be computed from Vw and one or more of, Bf, Rf, and Rp. Topics may be logically ordered using the effort based relevance.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with automatically summarizing a document are described. One method embodiment includes computing term scores for members of a set of terms in a document to be summarized and computing sentence scores for sentences in a set of sentences in the document. The method embodiment also includes computing a set of entries for a term-sentence matrix that relates terms to sentences. The method embodiment also includes computing a dominant topic for the document and simultaneously ranking the set of terms and the set of sentences based on the dominant topic. The method embodiment provides a summarization item(s) selected from the set of terms and/or the set of sentences.
