Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium for applying one or more information retrieval technologies is disclosed for resolving a query. In one embodiment, an exemplary system generates a response using a language analysis module configured to parse a query into elements. This system can also include a rules engine configured to compare a condition of a rule against the elements, where the rule is configured to perform an action to retrieve information. Further, a response generator coupled to said rules engine receives the rule and retrieves the information for presentation to a querier in a portion of a display that adjusts proportionately to the degree of importance of said information.

Abstract: A method is presented for providing a Customer hosted chat invitation to a browsing user. A service provider provides a Customer with a set of interactive invitation input objects, and the Customer creates and stores a set of customized invitation setup data from interacting with the input objects. The service provider runs custom code to generate, from the set of customized invitation setup data, an invitation program code module characterized by a set of programmatic invitation criteria. The invitation program code module is connected to a web page creating program code that resides on a web server operatively associated with the Customer site so that the browsing user's choices can be monitored and stored and, when selected invitation criteria are met by these choices, an invitation event is triggered. Abstract: System and methods for dynamically generating taxonomies of keywords and/or descriptors are provided. In one example, a navigation system for accessing a corpus of information provides for dynamic taxonomy generation expanding upon a topic entered by a user in a user interface. The navigation system generates, dynamically, at least one term associated with the received topic from at least one sense or meaning retrieved from a semantic network. The navigation system is further configured to present to the user the at least one term as a selectable refinement in response to receiving the topic entered by the user in the user interface. The system can also be configured to retrieve terms and/or senses from the semantic network and evaluate any retrieved terms for their informativeness. The system can further cache any information generated during taxonomy creation and update the corpus to reflect useful refinements.

Abstract: The present invention describes a method and system for informing a customer service agent of the details of a service user's interaction with a voice-based knowledge retrieval system. More particularly the invention is directed to a method of informing a customer service agent of details of a user's interaction with a voice retrieval system including the steps of providing a user of a voice retrieval system with a list of one or more information items, playing the one or more information items to the user in response to one or more user inputs, storing a transcript of the user's interaction with the one or more information items, transferring the user from the voice retrieval system to a customer service agent in response to the one or more user inputs; and providing the customer service agent with the transcript of the user's interaction with the one or more information items.

Abstract: A system can mask specific components of an application, such as a web page, displayed during a screen sharing session. As the web page is being displayed on a first computer screen (i.e., screen), the system can automatically mask specific components of the web page. Thus, when the first screen is captured, and the capture is transmitted to a second screen, the specific components of the web page that have been masked will not be displayed at the second screen.

Abstract: A system for visualizing concepts within a collection of information analyzes a set of materials from at least one collection of information and defines an attribute space associated with the set of materials. The system then determines automatically similarity of members of the attribute space. The system then generates a graphical model of the members of the attribute space, where the generating includes generating a display of the members of the attribute space, each of the members having a respective display distance from other respective members of the attribute space reflective of the determined similarity.

A mapping function can be used to identify a set of materials that correspond to each property cluster based on the associations between individual items and properties. The property clusters can also be used for iterative query refinement.
