  • Patent number: 9207917
Abstract: A utility is provided for generating applications for a variety of data conversion or handling application environments. A user can use a graphical user interface to purpose application adaptable modules to define a desired application. In one implementation, the user interface includes a node tree panel and a process assembly panel. The node tree panel lists tool sets including transformations, maps and input-output tools. These tools can then be assembled together with identified data sources and then elements using the assembly panel to define an application. In this manner, an application is generated from a number of generic modules simply by linking the modules to perform a purpose of the desired application. • Patent number: 8316051
Abstract: Techniques for managing access to data in a database allow several policies to be applied simultaneously to the same row in a database table, and provide a pluggable module in the form of the database package that allows one or more access control security policies to be added to a common database server without taking the database server off line. Techniques include registering one or more packages of routines with a database management system. An access mediation routine in a first package is invoked for determining whether to allow operation on data in a first table associated with a first policy. Other techniques include, for each operation in an operation set, determining whether to perform the operation on a row of the table based on a set of labels associated with the row. The set of labels correspond to a policy set associated with the table.

  • Patent number: 7814360
Abstract: Synchronizing cluster time is described. Times of one or more nodes in the cluster to a master node of the cluster are synchronized. It is discovered that a node of a cluster has a clock time that is ahead of a master clock time of the master node. In response to discovering the node with the clock time ahead of the master clock time, the master node is replaced with the node ahead thereof in time, which thus becomes a new master node. The clock times of the cluster nodes are synchronized with the clock time of the new master node.
