  • Patent number: 11592136
Abstract: A device for applying a layer of material within a thin-walled pressure vessel may include one or more maneuvering actuators configured to direct the device within the thin-walled pressure vessel, an applicator operatively coupled to the one or more maneuvering actuators, and a controller operatively coupled to the one or more maneuvering actuators and the applicator, the controller is configured to control the one or more maneuvering actuators and the applicator. The applicator may include an expander configured to apply pressure along a portion of an inner wall of the thin-walled pressure vessel, a receptacle configured to secure the material to the device and position the material along the inner wall of the thin-walled pressure vessel, and a bonder configured to bond the material along the inner wall of the thin-walled pressure vessel.

  • Patent number: 10916825
Abstract: A technique for a dielectric lens and an antenna assembly. The dielectric lens that includes a for a reference surface and a pattern of varying thicknesses made from a first dielectric. The pattern of varying thicknesses is situated on the reference surface. The thickness differences between adjacent formations of the pattern of varying thicknesses is less than an incident wavelength of electromagnetic energy. The antenna includes mounting fixture, the dielectric lens connected to the mounting fixture, and a transceiver operatively coupled to the mounting fixture. The transceiver is configured to transmit an electromagnetic signal directed to the dielectric lens.

  • Patent number: 10734698
Abstract: A lens and antenna assembly technique that includes a first bladder that is configured to be filled with a first fluid and the first fluid having a first index of refraction. The technique further includes a second bladder nested within the first bladder. The second bladder is configured to be filled with a second fluid and the second fluid has a second index of refraction. This technique is for deploying an inflatable lens that includes inflating a first bladder with a first fluid and inflating a second bladder with a second fluid. The second bladder is nested within the first bladder. The technique for deploying an inflatable lens further includes replacing the first fluid with a third fluid and replacing the second fluid with a fourth fluid.

  • Patent number: 10293591
Abstract: A printer system may include a coaxial extruder head that extrudes a core, a bulk, and/or a core and bulk cladding to form complex structures without retooling. The coaxial extruder head may include a distribution channel with an entrance and an exit, a priming chamber that surrounds the distribution channel. The priming chamber may include an outlet and a first inlet, a heating element thermally connected to the priming chamber, and a nozzle connected to the outlet of the priming chamber. Further, the nozzle may converge from the outlet of the priming chamber to an orifice of the nozzle. In addition, the exit of the distribution channel may be disposed at the orifice of the nozzle. This structure facilitates extruding a core and cladding type composite from the extruder head.
