A tray is coupled to the frame and includes an opening and a seat support surrounding the opening and a seat is positioned within the opening and is securely attached to the seat support. A resilient suspension system operates to permit the seat and seat support to move in vertical reciprocating movement to allow the child to bounce. A cover interchangeable with the seat and positioned within the opening operates to convert the activity center into a table structure.

The second layer covers at least a portion of the first layer for attaching to a vertical surface and includes a release area, wherein the release area is positioned such that it is vertically above the at least one rigid component. The rigid component operates to produce a cantilever moment and wherein the release area operates to counteract the cantilever moment.
