    Abstract: A dye composition prepared by polymerizing an unsaturated monomer in the presence of a quinoneimine dye and an azo initiator in amounts expressed by x.gtoreq.5 and y.gtoreq.0.33x.sup.1.2 wherein x is the amount of the quinoneimine dye in % by weight based on the unsaturated monomer, and y is the amount of the azo initiator in % by weight based on the unsaturated monomer. The composition is useful for preparing toners for developing electrostatic images because of its outstanding charge control effect and also for preparing electrostatic coating powder compositions.

    Abstract: A complex system for developing electrostatic images, and particularly a toner which contains a metal complex represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein a or b is a benzene ring moiety or cyclohexene ring moiety with or without C.sub.4 -C.sub.9 alkyl substituents, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each hydrogen, C.sub.4 -C.sub.9 alkyl or a substituent which may be in the form of a benzene ring moiety or cyclohexene ring moiety with or without C.sub.4 -C.sub.9 alkyl substituents, provided that both R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are not hydrogen at the same time, Me is Cr, Co or Fe, and X is a counter ion such as hydrogen or sodium. The metal complex has good compatibility with the resin component of the toner and is substantially colorless, imparting outstanding durability to the toner.

    Abstract: A method for removing tar from crude tolylene diisocyanate comprises quantitatively feeding a starting solution consisting of crude tolylene diisocyanate containing tar or its mixture with an inert organic solvent into the inlet of an elongated heating tube, thereby producing annular shape stream or spray stream of the starting solution in the region on the outlet of the heating tube, spouting the starting solution in this state from the outlet of the heating tube into a separation chamber kept at reduced pressure and thereby recovering tar in the form of nonviscous and porous masses from the starting solution.
