    Abstract: A titanium alloy possessing an equiaxial two-phase (.alpha.+.beta.) structure having an average grain size in the range of from 1 .mu.m to 10 .mu.m is obtained by a prescribed heat treatment of a titanium alloy material having a composition represented by the following formula 1,Ti.sub.100-a-b-c-d-e Al.sub.a V.sub.b Fe.sub.c Mo.sub.d O.sub.e(1)(wherein a, b, c, d, and e respectively satisfy the relations, 3.0.ltoreq.a.ltoreq.5.0, 2.1.ltoreq.b.ltoreq.3.7, 0.85.ltoreq.c.ltoreq.3.15, 0.85.ltoreq.d.ltoreq.3.15, and 0.06.ltoreq.e.ltoreq.0.20). The titanium alloy is formed in prescribed shape and size and finished with a mirror surface. It is produced by a method which comprises subjecting a titanium alloy material having a composition represented by the formula 1 to a solid solution treatment at a temperature in an .alpha.+.beta. range 25.degree. C.-100.degree. C. lower than the .beta.

    Abstract: An analog universal watch has an area dial 4 showing different areas of the world attached to an area dial spindle 10 and an area dial wheel 11 linked to a timepiece drive mechanism through a minute wheel 15. A pawl fastened to an hour wheel 17 engages with a ratchet wheel 12 fastened to the area dial spindle 10 so that an hour hand spindle 16 is driven indirectly. Provisions are made to permit correcting the area dial spindle 10 by means of a hand setting stem through the minute wheel 15, along with the independent correction of the hour wheel 17 by means of the hour hand correcting wheel 25 that engages with and releases the hand setting stem. Thus, the timepiece permits not only the ordinary correction of the pointers but also the setting of the hour hand alone to the local time of the desired area.

    Abstract: A metal shaped article, of which aesthetic value is of importance, such as watch cases, is provided with a coating layer of a ceramic composition containing a limited amount of magnesium oxide as an essential ingredient, the balance being silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, titanium dioxide and the like, and having a limited thickness. The ceramic-based coating layer can be deposited on the substrate surface by a dry process such as ion plating. The substrate article can be provided with excellent protection against abrasion and corrosion by the ceramic-based coating layer without affecting the beautiful appearance of the substrate surface only when the ceramic composition contains the specified amount of magnesium oxide and the ceramic-based coating layer has a specified thickness.

    Abstract: A calendar watch comprising a date module plate having seven varieties of one month date module sections on its face at the angularly spaced positions, each the section having the characters of one month dates which are sequentially arranged in seven columns in which the position of the first character is different in turn by one column from each of the other date module sections, the date module plate being rotatably mounted at the back of a dial in coaxially over-lapped relation therewith and adapted to angularly rotate upon operating a manipulating part on a watch case, the dial being provided with a window for indicating therethrough an optionally selected one of the date module sections and also provided in the vicinity of the upper end of the window with a sequence of characters showing the seven days of week from Sunday to Saturday and are positioned respectively aligned with the seven columns of each of the date module sections.
