  • Patent number: 12287062
Abstract: Improvements in an access point through a wall or ceiling for gaining access through the wall or ceiling using only one side of the wall or ceiling. After cutting a home the housing or frame for can then be pushed into the opening for installation and the installer can compress one-way retaining arms to secure the frame without requiring the use of any additional tools or requiring access to the back of the wall, ceiling or floor. The frame has locating key(s) ensures that the cover or electronics is installed in the preferred rotational orientation. One or plurality of locating keys that ensures the internal electronics can be installed in one or more than one orientation to minimize confusion regarding an acceptable orientation. The rotation positions can also be used to ensure that a logo or internal feature or cover is properly oriented.

  • Publication number: 20240301886
Abstract: Improvements in a cooling fan are disclosed where power to the fan is provided by the Ethernet connection. The fan module is connected to the Ethernet such that power to the fan is from a portion of the power to the Ethernet is stolen or otherwise parasitically harvested. Depending upon the available Ethernet power, the fan can be powered directly, or from a storage supply such as a battery. The speed of the fan can also be adjusted based on a local temperature sensor. Measuring a local temperature provides the best indicator for when air movement and air volume is needed. The temperature sensor can be located on a specific device, housing or in the air around the fan. Fan speed and the temperature to be communicated to other devices or a host over the Ethernet or to a cloud-based application or database.

  • Publication number: 20240267671
Abstract: Improvements in a bollard speaker with in-ground subwoofer where the bollard contains a first speaker for higher frequencies and the subwoofer that provides lower frequencies that emit from below ground up through the bollard through a grill in the middle or upper portion of the bollard. The in-ground subwoofer provides a structural foundation for the bollard. Placing the subwoofer in an underground housing allows for larger speaker sizes for improved lower frequency response without trying to produce low frequency sounds in a constrained vertical bollard housing pole. The same base subwoofer is used with interchangeable bollards that accommodate both a cylindrical and a square or rectangular above ground bollard. The speaker within the bollard is configurable for omni-directional or directional sound transmission.

  • Publication number: 20190028806
Abstract: An amplifier with voice activated audio override is disclosed. The amplifier with voice activated audio override mutes the audio signal from audio output devices that do not contain integrated hardware to mute the audio level under certain conditions. The amplifier can be hardwired or temporally wired to the audio system. The hard wiring can be by cutting and splicing the audio wiring or can be wired upon installation. The temporal wiring can be with jacks, connectors or other mechanisms. The muting can be adjustable depending upon different conditions. The variable muting can be a percentage or decibels of the audio signal or can be a fixed sound or decibel level regardless of the present volume or decibel level. The amplifier with can be parasitically powered from the audio device, sound system or from a separate power source.

  • Publication number: 20180295432
Abstract: Improvements to an adjustable speaker within a frame is disclosed. The adjustment of the speaker allows for rotation or pivoting on a plurality of webs, ribs or fingers. The plurality of webs, ribs or fingers provide a plurality of bearing surfaces. The webs, ribs or fingers provide an open frame that requires less material and allows for sound transmission both in-front of the speaker and around the speaker. The frame can be scaled to be larger or smaller to accommodate different diameter and depth speakers. It is also contemplated that speakers frame can be accommodate both round and oblong shapes. The frame is a clam-shell mesh. The clam-shell captures the speaker between the two components. The two components essentially snap together to secure the speaker. The webs, ribs or fingers frame allows pivoting with a compression or tension member of a spring.
