Abstract: This invention provides a flexible strip light, having a linear array of LEDs mounted in conjunction with a spring-loaded base (a strip of spring steel) that includes a cambered cross section. The camber is adapted to provide beam strength when it is arranged in an extended orientation. The camber otherwise forces the base to roll when the base is bent in a direction opposite the curl of the camber. The diameter of the rolled cylinder can vary. In general the diameter of the base conforms to the cross-sectional dimensions of an underlying curved or polygonal supporting member. The bend can be induced by manually grasping two points on the base surface and causing it to bend against the camber, or simply allowing inertia to generate a bend as the base is struck or slapped against the supporting member. The base and lighting array can be covered with a durable polymer.

Abstract: A connecting system for lighting members includes a rotary hinge assembly with an internal electrical connection, an upper hinge portion, a lower hinge portion, a central axial bolt that resides within an axial channel in the upper hinge portion and the lower hinge portion; and at least one LED strip assembly with a translucent LED module cover, a LED module of at least one LED in an array, a strip frame and at least one end cap with a female electrical connection port. A method for assembling a connecting system for lighting members includes connecting a first LED strip assembly with a rotary hinge; connecting a second LED strip assembly with the rotary hinge; placing a mount on one of the LED frames and engaging the mount with a support device; and inserting a power cord into a power connection port and connecting the power cord to a power source.

Abstract: An adapter that secures a light-modifying device and unites it with the light reflector and strobe light source that is readily adjustable and protected by a shroud. The adapter is comprised of an adapter body that is provided with a central aperture, a hinged connecting arm that is connected to the adapter body and is constructed with a through hole, a covering shroud that is constructed of opaque material and a plurality of arms that project outward from the adapter body. In an embodiment, the adapter is provided with three arms. Each adapter arm is provided with a moveable bolt and retaining nut that resides with a lateral slot therein. The connecting arm supports an engaged light-modifying device. The shroud is supported by a ring that engages the outer surface of each arm.

Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for projection of an image on any surface, employing a lightweight (typically polymer) housing that removably encloses a slide holder allowing for quick change of the slide. The housing includes a central channel, and allows for the mounting of a conventional camera-mounting-base lens at a front end and the insertion of a standard form factor photographic strobe/flash in the rear end. Light from the strobe passes down the channel, through the slide and is projected by the lens onto the surface. This housing is mountable on a standard tripod. The housing is straightforward to use, with the strobe effect being provided directly by the strobe unit. The system and method avoids the need of a camera body and desirably enables the user to employ one or more lenses, which are often less expensive and already available in a photographer's equipment inventory.
