The location of ventilation opening(s) proximate the rim of the container allows the flow of rising ethylene gas within the container to exit near the top of the container improving ventilation within the container. A plastic film can be applied over the top of the container and is adhered to the container with an adhesive to form a secure and rigid seal between the film and the container. The flattened surface of the rim improves the adherence between a film and the container to enclose and seal the container, aids the rigidity of the container, and lessens the likelihood of the edges of the rim being bent or folded when pressure is exerted to protect produce provided within the container.

Abstract: A label inspection and rejection system and method for positioning a product package having at least two labels provided thereon relative to at least two cameras to facilitate capturing pictures and/or video of the at least two labels on the product package and for rejecting the product package if the product package is mislabeled. First and second carriers move the product package through a product-transit area such that a first label on the product package passes underneath the first camera and a second label on the product package passes overtop the second camera, and, if the product package is mislabeled, the actuator of the rejection mechanism moves the actuator arm moves to contact the product package to remove the product package from the third carrier.

A pad includes upper and lower horizontal score lines inset from upper and lower edges, and right and left vertical score lines inset from right and left edges. The score lines define a central portion, upper and lower portions, and right and left portions. The product is placed on the central portion. The upper and lower portions fold toward the central portion, contacting the product. A wrap of restraining material is wrapped around the pad and the product. The right and left portions fold to an upright position perpendicular to the pad. The right and left vertical score lines include die-cut tabs. When the right and left portions fold to the upright position, the die-cut tabs extend to an aligned position below and perpendicular to the pad. The pad and the wrapped product insert into a master shipping container. The wrap holds the product in position on the pad.
