  • Patent number: 7134220
Abstract: A fluid level measuring device, also referred to as a dipstick, for measuring the fluid level in a fluid reservoir or tank, such as an oil pan or transmission reservoir in an internal combustion engine. The fluid level measuring device includes a stationary tube onto which lugs can be directly attached. The dipstick assembly includes a fluid level indicator measuring blade attached to an elongated shaft that is molded into a plastic handle assembly. The plastic handle assembly includes a bayonet type locking mechanism for locking the handle to the stationary tube assembly. A compressible seal forms a pressurized seal between the stationary tube assembly and the handle.

  • Patent number: 6935044
Abstract: A connection system for a fluid level measuring system is disclosed. The disclosed connection system comprises an outer member (also known as a boss), at least one retaining means or clip, and a tube that has been previously shaped and in receptive within the outer member. The end of the tube not received within the outer member is associated with a cap or handle for inserting and removing a fluid level indicator blade (or dipstick).

  • Patent number: 6935626
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a spring assembly for use in a parking brake system that solves problems associated with conventional parking brake systems. The disclosed spring assembly imparts a minimum force (e.g., tensile force) onto the parking brake cable of the parking brake system when the parking brake is applied. The spring assembly comprises a sliding collar, a wire ring located about the exterior diameter of the sliding collar, a locking collar, a spring and a sleeve for receiving the aforementioned components.
