Abstract: A pill dispenser is provided for dispensing a series of different pills over a prescribed period. The dispenser disclosed is provided with a calendar that can be pre-set to begin the regimen on whatever day is selected. The apparatus of the present invention comprises a cover, calendar and base which interlock to form a dispenser. The calendar is adjustable by applying a deliberate force using a coin or other tool. After the calendar is set to the correspond the initial day to the initial dose, subsequent doses are dispensed by rotating the cover. The calendar and the cover preferably rotate in opposite directions to minimize the possibility of mis-setting the dispenser. In addition, methods of dispensing a series of different pills over a prescribed period and methods of assembling the dispenser of the present invention are also disclosed.

Abstract: Natural rubber latex compounds are modified by the addition of a high styrene content styrene-butadiene copolymer. The films prepared from these modified NR latex compositions exhibit improved tear strength and a good balance of other properties.

Abstract: A system for the detection, location and extraction of an intrauterine device ("IUD") including a magnetic IUD, a locator probe to be used intravaginally and an extractor probe to be used intrauterinally, both containing at least one Hall effect generator. The probe is inserted into the patient and an indicator means is provided to communicate the presence of the IUD, in the case of the locator, or the distance of the IUD from the probe, in the case of the extractor. After positioning the extractor next to the IUD using the indicator for guidance, grasping means in the extractor is actuated to effect temporary attachment of the IUD to the extractor which is then withdrawn from the uterus.

Abstract: An intrauterine contraceptive device of a Tatum T shape which carries copper sleeves on its arms wherein the arm portion carrying the sleeve is of a smaller diameter than the remaining portion of the arm. This arrangement allows for minimization or elimination of an exposed and elevated copper sleeve edge which may abrade the uterus on insertion and/or removal.
