Abstract: Metal sheets, and in particular, metal sheets for roofing of the kind having upstanding flat edges ending with beads, are bent by rolling the flat edges such that they become gradually thinner towards the beads. The sheets will also be bent if the beads are not rolled.
Abstract: A roll-forming machine includes in line a device (11) for unwinding metal strip (10) from a strip reel (12), a strip cutter (18), and a roll-forming section (30; 90). The roll-forming section includes a row of forming stations that include forming rolls that are carried by shafts which are supported on a respective one side of the sheet section. Each row of forming stations includes an edge cutter (58, 59; 102, 103) and a first forming station mounted on a common movable carrier (31, 32; 100, 101), for collective movement. The angle of the carrier relative to the longitudinal axis of the forming section can be adjusted and the carrier can be moved in a parallel manner transversely to said longitudinal axis so as to enable said movement and said angular adjustment of these forming stations to be achieved simultaneously.
Abstract: The invention relates to a cutter assembly for slitting of coils of relatively large width into one coil of desired width or into several coils. The material for slitting is preferably metal, for example steel or aluminum, but coils of other material can also be slit. The invention is directed to make a very strong and stable slitting device, having a minimum of plays in order be able to slit steel coils from a thickness of up to 15 mm. The invention is also designed to slit coils of aluminum having a thickness of at least 0.1 mm.
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for accurately fitting together two elements (1,2) one of which is provided with a projection (8) and the other with a recess (4) adapted to receive the projection, one (1) of the elements being machined to exact dimensions, whereas the other (2) element is manufactured by extrusion or like process. The novelty of the invention resides in that the machined element (1) of a hard material is provided with portions (9-11) serving as cutting means, while the other element of a softer material, adjacent its portions (12) for engaging the former element, is provided with excess material (14) which is adapted to be wholly or partly removed while the elements are being assembled.
Abstract: A rolling mill machine is for longitudinal bending of plate to provide a cross-sectional profile. The machine includes elements for advancing the plate in a longitudinal direction through a plurality of longitudinally spaced shaping stations. Each of the shaping stations extends in a generally transverse direction relative to the longitudinal direction and includes an upper row of forming rolls and a lower row of forming rolls which are disposed in spaced relationship along the transverse direction for respectively bending the plate advancing therebetween to form the profile. Some of the shaping stations include centrally located forming rolls being longitudinally displaced forwardly of the other of forming rolls in the upper and lower rows for initially bending the plate by these centrally located forming rolls. Additonally, the forming rolls respectively combine with corresponding other forming rolls to form generally converging longitudinal rows of the forming rolls.
