Abstract: The invention relates to an avalanche transceiver, having a transmitting unit for transmitting at least one transmit signal, a receiving unit for receiving at least one transmit signal from at least one further avalanche transceiver, and a control device for controlling at least one loudspeaker. The control device is designed to control the at least one loudspeaker to output at least one voice message on the basis of at least one event. The at least one event is associated with a search for the at least one further avalanche transceiver. The invention further relates to a method for operating such an avalanche transceiver.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for searching a transmitter. Therein, the vectorial magnetic field strengths of the field emitted by the transmitter are detected for at least a first and a second measurement point relative to a reference axis of the detector carried by a searcher. Furthermore, at least one orientation difference (?2??1) between the first and the second measurement point is detected. Based on certain assumptions, the vectorial magnetic field strengths are calculated and subsequently a function (E) of an error vector (g) representing the difference between the calculated and the measured vectorial magnetic field strengths is numerically minimized for determining an updated position vector. Moreover, the invention relates to a corresponding detector.
