    Abstract: A three-dimensional display apparatus 3 comprises a display panel 5 (display element) and a parallax barrier 6 (optical element). The display panel 5 displays a left-eye image and a right-eye image respectively in first subpixels 11L and second subpixels 11R. The parallax barrier 6 transmits at least part of the left-eye image toward the left eye, and at least part of the right-eye image toward the right eye. A first sertain number of the first subpixels 11L and of the second subpixels 11R are each successively arranged in each column. A region in which the first subpixels 11L are arranged and a region in which the second subpixels 11R are arranged are displaced from each other by a second sertain number between two adjacent columns. The first sertain number is greater than the second sertain number and is not a multiple of the second sertain number.
