Patent number: 4471192Abstract: A microwave heating apparatus of a dielectric heating system used in combination with a radiant heat source.A leakage waveguide group is formed by arranging a number of leakage waveguides, each having at least in one side surface thereof an electric wave radiation opening which may be in the form of a long slit; and the same is closed at each electric wave radiation opening thereof with heat resistant non-metal material such as Teflon, glass or the like and is arranged so that a heating medium such as hot air, steam or the like may be passed therethrough.According to this construction, as compared with a conventional microwave heating apparatus of this kind, the heating energy is more sufficiently consumed in an object to be heated, so that the heating speed can be improved and the available space in the heating chamber can be enlarged.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1980Date of Patent: September 11, 1984Assignee: Osaka Gas Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hidenori Awata, Masatsune Harada, Takehiro Shimizu, Kenichi Abe

Patent number: 4467654Abstract: A method of ultrasonic flaw detection of a pipe, worth particularly for instance for a heater pipe as is used for catalytic gas reforming with steam. A transmitter probe and a receiver probe are disposed on the pipe outer surface with suitable spacing one from the other both in axial or longitudinal direction and in peripheral direction of the pipe. The transmitter probe launches ultrasonic radiation under proper angle of incidence upon the pipe outer surface at the point of entering material of the pipe, to be refracted under a particular angle of refraction so that it may then pass through the material of the pipe straight to another point upon the pipe outer surface. The receiver probe receives the ultrasonic radiation transmission echo. Flaw in the material of the pipe is detected from fluctuation of the echo, as seen upon scanning the pipe surface by moving the transmitter and receiver probes.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1981Date of Patent: August 28, 1984Assignees: Kubota, Ltd., Osaka Gas Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shinichi Murakami, Junichi Sugitani, Teruo Yoshimoto

Patent number: 4346661Abstract: A furnace for treating sewage sludge, ash from municipal incinerators or other industrial wastes by melting the waste with a high-temperature bed formed from a combustible carbonaceous material for the reuse of the resulting molten product, for example, as aggregate. A gas for combustion is supplied to the bed at an intermediate portion between its upper and lower portions while causing the resulting combustion gas to flow through the bed dividedly upward and downward.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1980Date of Patent: August 31, 1982Assignee: Osaka Gas Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Takeo Nakamura, deceased

Patent number: 4325772Abstract: A method of internally lining an installed pipe, which may be used for various types of pipelines such as those for transmitting town gas, natural gas, petroleum, and water. According to the invention, a flexible liner tube is placed inside an installed pipe, and then a liquid adhesive agent is introduced between the pipe and the tube. In this condition, an object is passed through the tube whereby the liquid adhesive agent acts to make the tube adhere to the interior wall of the pipe.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1980Date of Patent: April 20, 1982Assignee: Osaka Gas Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tetsui Suetoshi, Munetaka Kinugasa, Koichi Hosoya, Mitsuo Yamamoto
