  • Patent number: 11623325
Abstract: A rotary radial wire brush made of an annular center disc hub having 32 holes circumferentially spaced apart two radially offset distances from a center about which the brush rotates with a brush wire formed of between 22 and 34 filaments or bristles providing increased material removal rates during a longer useful operating life. A preferred brush has a hub with radially outermost openings larger in size than radially innermost openings causing the brush wire anchored by its twist knot thereto to be more flexible and extend farther radially outwardly than a shorter stiffer more aggressive wire produced by anchoring via a longer twist knot to radially innermost openings. Such a construction produces a rotary brush of the invention with brush wires of alternating flexible and aggressive construction increasing surface finish and material removal rates while having increased brush life.

  • Patent number: 11618130
Abstract: A double-stringer rotary brush assembly formed of a pair of brush wire mounting hubs having sets of alternating radially staggered radially innermost and outermost brush wire tuft mounting holes having different hole sizes with brush wire tufts extending radially outwardly therefrom having at least one of (a) different lengths, (b) an offset trim, and/or (c) differently sized knots anchoring the tufts thereto. One hub can be angularly offset relative to the other hub angularly offsetting the holes of one hub relative to the other hub from being concentric. The tufts extending from one of the radially innermost and outermost holes are stiffer than the tufts extending from the other one of the radially innermost and outermost holes imparting to the brush assembly tufts having different surface finishing and abrasive removal characteristics.

  • Patent number: 11504824
Abstract: A rotary wire brush, such as a wheel brush, e.g., double-stringer or dually brush, cup brush, bevel brush, or knotted end brush, composed of knotted brush wire tufts of multistrand construction each having at least a plurality of brush wire strands, preferably at least a plurality of pairs of, i.e., at least three, strands each formed of at least a plurality, preferably at least a plurality of pairs of, i.e., at least three, wires. The wires forming strands are twisted, braided, or twisted and braided, and the strands that form tufts are twisted, braided, or twisted and braided. A preferred brush employs a center disc, e.g., hub, with radially offset tuft anchor holes, which can have different sizes, from which twist knot tufts, which also can have different sizes, can outwardly extend from the disc different distances by being configured with an offset trim preferably having different trim lengths.

  • Patent number: 11440163
Abstract: A compoundless buff and method of making a compoundless buff using a coating solution formulated with abrasive particles dispersed or suspended using a surfactant or suspension agent and which also contains a self-crosslinking acrylic binder emulsion that binds abrasive particles to nonwoven cloth of a buffing article when the coating solution is applied thereto forming a relatively hard abrasive-containing coating that enables the buffing article to abrasively treat a surface without having to separately apply any buffing or polishing compound. A preferred coating solution formulation further contains a lubricant emulsion that produces a lubricant and abrasive-containing coating of the buff having lubricant interspersed with binder and abrasive particles thereby reducing friction during buffing or polishing.

  • Patent number: 11383353
Abstract: A rotary brush configured to isolate vibration during use reducing vibration at a hand-held power tool to which the brush is coupled. The brush has wires arrangeable in tufts extending from a hub sandwiched between two plates assembled to a tool coupling having an isolator therebetween. The isolator and coupling are part of a vibration-isolating assembly having a radial isolator carried by a coupling shaft located between the (i) shaft, and (ii) hub and plates preventing brush vibration from being transmitted to the tool through a coupling end of the shaft mounting the brush to the tool. The isolating assembly preferably includes an axial isolator between (i) each flange and (ii) the hubs and plates. Isolators are made of vibration dampening material and can be formed into a single isolator of one-piece unitary construction. A preferred brush is a cup brush having plates contoured to define wire supporting cups.

  • Patent number: 11066249
Abstract: A transport roller brush assembly that includes a base that is constructed to support a plurality of brush wires such that the plurality of brush wires are oriented to extend in a radial direction relative to an axis of rotation of an underlying material transport roller. The base is preferably split into at least two arcuate portions that can be removeably secured to one another preferably via cooperation of a plurality of collar or collar portions and such that the respective and preferably two arcuate portions generally circumscribe a transport roller when the base is secured thereto. Discrete brush assemblies are preferably provided in a plurality of inner and outer radial dimensions such that roller brush assemblies as disclosed herein can be used with transport rollers of various outer radial dimensions.
