In particular, the present invention relates to the production of strontium salts of carboxylic acids. Novel strontium salts are also provided by the present method.

The tablets are designed to contain a very high load of the strontium salt (75% w/w or more), which is especially advantageous due to the fact that strontium must be administered in relative high amounts for therapeutic use. Furthermore, the tablets provided by the present invention lead to an improved bioavailability and presents a therapeutic advantage.
