Patents Assigned to Oswald Forst Maschinenfabrik und Apparatebauanstalt
  • Patent number: 6409442
Abstract: A vertical internal push broaching machine comprises a machine column and a workpiece lifting table which is guided for displacement on carriage guideways. Underneath the lifting table, a feeder carriage is disposed vertically displaceably on guideways. These guideways can be separate from the carriage guideways. The lifting table is actuated by means of a single elevating drive which is disposed behind the plane spanned by the carriage guideways.

  • Patent number: 5865569
Abstract: An internal broach for the broaching of profiles defined by a bottom and flanks, in particular of internal toothings, in a workpiece is provided with broach cutting teeth which have bottom-cutting edges and flank-cutting edges. Over their full profile height, the flank-cutting edges of broach cutting teeth disposed one after the other and allocated to each other have an ascending profile in the range of 1 .mu.m to 3 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 4495733
Abstract: A scanning finger for a scanning device of a machine for automatically shening tools has a horizontal slide for receiving a tool to be ground and a vertical slide carrying at least one grinding spindle. The scanning finger has a scanning face, which is substantially horizontal and limited by and undercut to rest on the free face of a tool tooth to be ground, as well as a face which is downwardly offset from the scanning face and is intended for ascertaining the cutting face of the tooth. In order to make it possible to scan the cutting face at a distance from the original cutting edge, the face for ascertaining the cutting face of the tooth is undercut in the direction of movement of the horizontal slide and below the horizontal scanning face, and below the undercut it has a measuring edge to rest on the cutting face.

  • Patent number: 4109560
Abstract: A horizontal external broaching machine has a horizontally movable tool slide disposed on a horizontal machine frame. The tool slide, which serves to receive a broaching tool, is supported laterally and vertically, by means of guide surfaces, on guide surfaces of the machine frame. The tool slide is provided with a toothed rack which extends in the direction of movement of the tool slide. A driving pinion, provided with corresponding teeth, meshes with the rack, the pinion being adapted to be driven via a shaft by a drive motor. The center of gravity of the tool slide and of the rack together with the associated drive pinion are disposed on one side of the guide surfaces. The drive pinion is arranged vertically above the rack, the rack and the drive pinion being provided with helical teeth which, during driving in the broaching direction, are acted on by a force directed in the direction of the shaft of the drive pinion and intensifying the bearing forces acting on the guide surfaces for the tool slide.

  • Patent number: 4106785
Abstract: A workpiece holder for a vertical broaching machine for broaching annular workpieces is provided with at least two centering pieces for radial immobilization of the workpieces. The centering pieces are radially pressable against an annular surface of the workpiece by a common drive means. The centering pieces are displaced until they rest firmly against the radial surface of the workpiece, thus ensuring that diametrical tolerances of the workpiece are completely eliminated.

  • Patent number: 3980182
Abstract: A workpiece handling device for a machine tool having at least one work station disposed on the frame of the machine tool, wherein workpieces are held in workpiece holders during machining comprises a transfer means and a feeding means. The transfer means has a plurality of engaging means defining a plurality of positions along a first axis. A feeding means has two rows of engaging means formed in a plurality of columns. The rows are parallel to the first axis and the columns have parallel axis which interest the first axis and the centerline axis of a respective one of the work stations. The transfer means and the feeding means move in an alternating reciprocal manner to transfer the workpieces from a feeding station where workpieces are inserted, through the machine work stations, to a discharge station where the machined workpiece is ejected and back to the feed station in a cyclical manner.

  • Patent number: 3960056
Abstract: A vertical internal broaching machine includes a workpiece holder mounted on a machining table of the broaching machine. A vertically displaceable broaching slide is mounted beneath the machining table which slide draws a broach through a workpiece at the workpiece holder. A vertically displaceable broach feed slide is mounted above the workpiece holder, and an inclined feed channel for the workpieces terminates in front of and above the workpiece holder. A mask extends up to one end of the feed channel and is swivelable from the plane of the feed channel to the workpiece holder by means of a swiveling drive means. An ejection chute extends from the mask. A separating means is mounted above the feed channel for releasing workpieces to the mask when the mask is in the raised position.
