Patent number: 8578813Abstract: In a parking brake system, a locking tooth of a ratchet plate includes a first area for contacting and retaining a locking claw of a ratchet pawl in an equilibrium state when a parking brake lever is pulled up; and a second area in which the locking claw remains in a state of halfway engagement of tooth tips when a pressing force of a release rod is released. When the locking claw comes into contact with a portion closer to a tip of the locking tooth beyond the first area, a line of force is maintained due to the pressing force of the release rod. The system is configured such that even if an occupant erroneously pulls up the parking brake lever while the release rod is pressed, it is possible to reliably prevent halfway engagement of tooth tips in a ratchet mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2010Date of Patent: November 12, 2013Assignees: Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Otsuka Koki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takaya Azumi, Naoto Shibui, Satoru Masuda

Publication number: 20110290064Abstract: In a parking brake system, a locking tooth (17a) of a ratchet plate (17) is configured to have: a first area (S1) in which a locking claw (19c) of a ratchet pawl (19) comes into contact with the locking tooth and remains there in an equilibrium state when a parking brake lever is pulled up and thereafter loosened while a release rod being pressed; and a second area (S2) in which the locking claw remains there in a state of halfway engagement of tooth tips when a pressing force of the release rod is released. With this configuration, when the locking claw (19c) comes into contact with a portion closer to a tip of the locking tooth (17a) beyond the first area (S1), a line of force (F1) is maintained due to the pressing force of the release rod. Accordingly, the locking claw (19c) does not become in the state of halfway engagement of tooth tips at the second area (S2), and the locking claw (19c) slides towered the tooth tip to prevent beforehand the occurrence of the state of halfway engagement of tooth tips.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2010Publication date: December 1, 2011Applicants: OTSUKA KOKI CO., LTD., HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Takaya Azumi, Naoto Shibui, Satoru Masuda

Patent number: 6347900Abstract: A yoke for a universal joint is produced by press forming of a steel sheet, and mutually concentric circular holes are formed by press punching at the tip ends of a pair of arms opposite to each other. After the circular holes are punched by inserting a punching punch through the tip ends of the arms in the state that the backs of the arms are supported by a die relative to the punching direction and the outer peripheries of these arms are restrained by a restraining member in the vicinity of a portion in which the circular holes are to be formed, a finishing punch is inserted from the direction opposite to the punching punch into the punched circular holes, thereby improving the accuracy of the circular holes.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2000Date of Patent: February 19, 2002Assignees: NSK Ltd., Otsuka Koki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kiyoshi Sadakata, Yoshihide Sasamoto, Shuji Hitani
