  • Publication number: 20070260328
Abstract: A prosthesis joint including a base, a coupling element for attachment to a body part or a prosthesis section, which is attached to the base, and an attachment device for attachment to a prosthesis device, which is coupled to the base and pivotable around at least one axis. A locking device is coupled to the coupling element and operates to selectively block and enable movement of the attachment device with respect to the base providing locked and unlocked positions, respectively. A retention element is carried by at least one of the base and coupling elements and is elastically pre-stressed against the attachment device to provide a retention force for the attachment device so as to resist undesired pivoting movement.

  • Publication number: 20070260329
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to determining the overall height of a prosthesis composed of several components, in which at least some of the components can be adjustably connected to one another via adapters using a substantially spherical surfaces. In certain embodiments, each component can be assigned a system height value and for some components the system height values are adjustable by means of a substantially spherical surface. In other embodiments, a midpoint dimension can be assigned in the respective substantially spherical surface, and these system height values for the components mounted on one another can be added together to determine the overall height.

  • Publication number: 20070246907
Abstract: A wheelchair having wheel track adjustability. The wheelchair including a frame, a seat situated within the frame, two drive wheels mounted to the frame at wheel axles and at least one steerable wheel. Each axle connected to a fitting removably coupled to the frame, with the fitting mounted to at least one support plate whose thickness varies around the circumference to position the fitting and axle at an angle. The support plate rotatable to change the angle of the fitting and axle and thereby correct wheel track error. The support plate mountable to a bracket pivotally mounted to the frame, such that pivoting movement of the bracket results in rotation of the support plates.

  • Publication number: 20070222199
Abstract: Anti-tip mechanism for wheelchairs having wheels on a rear axle. The mechanism includes left and right side sections that are each attached to an exterior end of the rear axle with a bracket. Each side of the mechanism extends perpendicular to the axle when the mechanism is in a functional position and parallel to the axle when in an idle position. The bracket is equipped with a hinge plate mounted at an angle; whether the angle is positive or negative depends on whether the bracket is part of the mechanism's left side or right side. A support arm is rotatably coupled to the hinge plate by a locking mechanism and includes a support roller at the other end. Release of the locking mechanism allows movement of the support arm between the functional and idle positions.

  • Publication number: 20070196222
Abstract: The invention relates to a pump comprising a wall (3; 21, 22; 31, 32, 33), which forms an enclosed fluid volumetric space (1) and which can be moved by a first force (F) in a direction resulting in a decrease in volume and, after a preceding decrease in volumetric space, can be moved by a second force in a direction resulting in an increase in volume. The pump also comprises an inlet valve (8), which communicates with an inlet valve (6), and comprises an outlet valve (9) in an outlet line (7) of the fluid volumetric space (1). The inventive pump has a compact design due to the fact that it is provided in the form of a vacuum pump whose volumetric space can be decreased by the external first force acting against an elastically deformable material (2; 21, 22; 33) whose restoring force, after the external force ceases, generates the second force acting counter to the generated vacuum.

  • Publication number: 20070119662
Abstract: Parking brake, in particular for a wheelchair, with a pressing element (10) articulated by a pivoting lever (8) coupled to a retainer (12) mounted to the wheelchair frame. The pivoting lever (8) is tiltable by swiveling a hand brake lever (7) into an engaged position, in which the pressing element (10) exerts force against a wheel (2). In addition, a resetting-force-applying element is set under a pre-load against the pivoting lever (8) to return the pivoting lever (8) to a neutral position when the hand brake is released, characterized by the fact that the resetting-force-applying element is a flexible bendable element (6) formed from a frame cover (5) fastened to the retainer (12).

  • Publication number: 20070045991
Abstract: A stand-up wheelchair with a chassis, at which two drive wheels and at least a one guidable wheel is fastened, on which a stand-up unit with a seating surface, a backrest and at least one tiltable footrest is arranged, whereby reciprocally underneath the seating surface an upper longitudinal rail and a lower longitudinal rail are arranged, the upper longitudinal rail is firmly connected with the seating surface and both longitudinal rails are connected over four hinge points with their rear ends connected with a backrest, characterized by the fact that the rear ends of the longitudinal rails show a slot, in which the backrest can be longitudinally adjusted with their lower ends.

  • Patent number: 7059625
Abstract: A stroller, in particular a rehabilitation stroller, having a front frame which extends upward to the rear, at an angle <90° to the ground and has two front frame struts, which are directed forward and downward and are equipped at their respectively lower ends with front wheels, and has a push bar at its rear, upper end, and having a rear frame which extends downward to the rear and is fastened at its upper end to the front frame and/or to the push bar thereof and is equipped at its rear, lower end with rear wheels. In order to obtain optimum shock absorption for the child and optimum maneuverability of the stroller, the latter comprises, according to the invention, a frame construction which serves as a seat carrier or is actually part of a seat, is guided in a longitudinally displaceable manner on the two front frame struts and is supported with respect to the front frame struts on at least one spring bearing, the spring force of which can be adjusted.
