Abstract: A surgical model includes a first body corresponding to an ilium, the first body including a socket, a ridge around the socket, and a key in the ridge mounted to the first body for movement with respect to the ridge. The model includes a second body corresponding to a femur, the second body terminating in a head corresponding to a femoral head, wherein the head is received in the socket for movement of the second body in a plane of movement. A block is mounted for movement in the second body, and is located for confrontation with the key when the second body moves in the plane of movement. The key and block move between first and second positions. The first positions disable a full range of movement of the second body in the plane of movement, and the second positions enable the full range of movement.

Abstract: A knee brace kit includes a wrap having opposed inner and outer surfaces, and a body and straps extending from the body. The outer surface carries a first engagement element of a hook-and-loop engagement, the straps terminate at tips, and the inner surface at the tips carries a second engagement element of the hook-and-loop engagement complemental to the first engagement element. A hole in the wrap is located such that, when the wrap is worn by a person, the hole is disposed over a knee of the person and the straps are wrapped above and below the hole, defining an applied arrangement of the wrap. There are a plurality of trim lines indicated on the body, which, when the wrap is trimmed along the trim lines, maintain the applied arrangement of the straps with respect to the hole.

Abstract: A hip brace kit includes a first assembly for retention against a limb, which has a first base and a first arm terminating at first rings. A second assembly includes a second base and a second arm terminating at a second ring. A third assembly includes a third base and a third arm terminating at a third ring. A pivot assembly includes an upper cup and a lower cup defining a pivot housing. In a first arrangement, the first and second assemblies are mounted in the pivot assembly to enable unrestricted pivotal movement with respect to each other and to disable adduction and abduction with respect to each other. In a second arrangement, the first and third assemblies are mounted in the pivot assembly to disable unrestricted pivotal movement with respect to each other and to enable adduction and abduction with respect to each other.

Abstract: A medical lookup patch, for application to a medical device, includes a substrate having a front, a back, and a perimeter edge defined therebetween. The patch includes an engagement element of a hook-and-loop engagement system on the back of the substrate, for engaging with a complemental engagement element on the medical device. The front of the substrate includes first, second, and third information areas. Brand information is displayed in the first information area, and instructive information is displayed in the second information area. Lookup information is displayed in the third information area and defines a machine-readable code which, when processed by a machine, directs the machine to display human-readable information different from the lookup information.

Abstract: An improved pain management and post-operative hip orthosis includes a waist strap having first and second ends, a lower strap having first and second ends, and a pocket extending between the waist strap and lower strap. The pocket has inner and outer panels fastened to each other to define an upper opening and a lower opening. A cooling pack including a reservoir and inlet and outlet tubes extending from a bottom of the reservoir is applied to the pocket such that the inlet and outlet tubes pass through the lower opening of the pocket.
