Patent number: 6405383Abstract: A leg protection system selectively covers a person's lower leg and knee for protection against environmental elements. The leg protection system comprises a first protective cover and a second protective cover which are selectively attachable to each other to define a single leg protection system. The first protective cover is adapted to cover the front and side portions of a wearer's knee. The first protective cover has a top portion and a bottom portion, whereby the top and bottom portions are formed of a flexible material for generally fitting the contour of the knee. The bottom portion has a first releasable strap assembly adapted to extend behind the wearer's leg to operatively attach the first protective cover over the knee. The second protective cover is adapted to cover the front and side portions of a wearer's lower leg. The second protective cover is formed of a flexible material for generally fitting the contour of the lower leg.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2001Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Assignee: Outdoor Creations, Inc.Inventors: John F. Heller, Gregory B. Fisher

Patent number: 6185855Abstract: A fishing rod and reel holder having a one piece wire frame elevates and holds a fishing rod in an angular position relative to the frozen surface of a body of water. The holder has a generally flat base member and an angularly disposed helical body adapted to support the rod adjacent a hole in the frozen surface. The fishing rod is turned to position the shank of the fishing reel between coils of the helical body thereby releasably secure the rod to the holder.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1999Date of Patent: February 13, 2001Assignee: Outdoor Creations, Inc.Inventors: Gerald R. Patent number: 6170968Abstract: An illuminator has all of it's electrical components mounted within a housing that is secured to the rotatable object. Those components include a light source, an electrical power source, a first switch activated by intermittent motion of the housing and a second switch activated by centrifugal forces caused by rotation of the rotatable object. The illuminator components also include a timer which has a timing cycle and which is operably connected relative to the first switch and the second switch such that activation of either the first switch or the second switch initiates that timing cycle of the timer and enables the flow of electricity from the power source to the light source during the timing cycle. The light source can include an electro luminescent strip or light emitting diodes. As noted the illuminator can be mounted on a rotatable object, or can be used by wearing on a person, pet or other device to provide a warning or locator light.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1999Date of Patent: January 9, 2001Assignee: Outdoor Creations, Inc.Inventor: Ty J. Patent number: 5950738Abstract: Using a standard ice auger having a central shaft, a spiral flighting affixed thereon, and an ice cutting blade at the lower end of the flighting, a cylindrical ice hole is bored through an ice sheet. The inventive apparatus, mounted adjacent a lower portion of the standard ice auger, is then used to form an inverted funnel-shaped area at the lower end of the cylindrical ice hole. The inventive apparatus includes a bracket mounted to the ice auger and an ice hole flaring blade pivotally mounted to the bracket. A spring biases the ice hole flaring blade toward a transport position wherein the blade has its free end extending toward an upper end of the ice auger. The ice hole flaring blade is pivotable to an operable position wherein the blade is aligned generally below the ice cutting blade of the auger and has its free end extending downwardly and outwardly from the central shaft of the ice auger.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1997Date of Patent: September 14, 1999Assignee: Outdoor Creations, Inc.Inventors: Ty J.
