    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing organophosphites, organophosphonites and organophosphinites by condensing phosphorus trihalides or organophosphorus halides with organic compounds bearing hydroxyl groups in the presence of polymeric basic ion exchange resins. The process according to the invention makes possible in a simple manner the preparation of trivalent organophosphorus compounds which may be used, for example, as ligands in rhodium complexes which may be used as a catalyst in hydroformylation.
