Patents Assigned to OXTEX LIMITED
  • Patent number: 10124155
Abstract: The present invention provides a tissue expander (10) comprising a self-inflating core (12 or 2e) having a non-inflated state and an inflated state and a coating (14) surrounding said core (12 or 12e), in which said core (12 or 12e) comprises a compacted self-inflating material and said coating comprises a fluid impermeable material having a plurality of apertures therethrough for allowing the passage of fluid to the core (12 or 12e) and in which the coating (14) is separable or separated from the core (12 or 12e) such as to allow the coating to provide a support function during use. The invention also provides a method of manufacturing the product.

  • Patent number: 9999755
Abstract: The present invention provides a tissue expander (10) comprising a self-inflating core (12) having a non-inflated state and an inflated state and a coating (14) surrounding said core (12), wherein said core (12) comprises two or more segments (16) of dried compacted material of height H joined to each other by conformable linking portions (18) of height h where H is greater than h. the conformable linking portions (18) allow for the expander (10) to be conformed to a desired profile either before or after insertion under the skin of a patient.

  • Patent number: 9907937
Abstract: The present invention provides a tissue expander (10) comprising a self-inflating core (12) having a non-inflated state and an inflated state and a coating (14) surrounding said core (12), in which said core (12) comprises a compacted material having a central portion (16) of a first, higher, (average) density D and a peripheral portion (18) of a second, lower, (average) density d, a border (19) between said central portion (16) and said peripheral portion (18) and wherein said coating (14) includes a plurality of first and/or second apertures (20, 22) through said coating (14). It also provides a method of manufacturing the tissue expander (10). The arrangement is such as to allow for the controlled ingress of water into the expandable core (12) which allows for the control of the delay before expansion and the rate of expansion once initiated.
