  • Patent number: 4869463
Abstract: A lubrication system for leading a lubricant from a lubrication unit to a point to be lubricated, the lubrication unit and said point being movable with respect to each other. The system comprises means for leading a quantity of the lubricant at predetermined intervals from the lubrication unit to the point to be lubricated. For reducing the demand for space, a fast coupler is provided for leading lubricant from the lubrication unit to the point to be lubricated. The fast coupler is arranged to be in a position allowing the flow when the lubrication unit and the point to be lubricated are interconnected and in a position preventing the flow when the lubrication unit and the point to be lubricated are detached from each other.

  • Patent number: 4842286
Abstract: A slide ring seal for sealing a machine part which is rotatable with respect to a wall. The seal comprises seating rings provided with slide rings, the seating rings being so arranged with respect to each other that the sealing slide faces of the slide rings are pressed against each other and rotate with respect to each other. Each slide ring is fastened to its seating ring by means of a shrink fit in such a way that the slide ring is exposed to a radially-acting press force. In order to provide the slide face with a wave shape in the peripheral direction, an axial counter-surface of the seating ring, which in the shrink fit makes contact with an axial peripheral surface of the slide ring, is an axially discontinuous surface.

  • Patent number: 4838560
Abstract: A slide ring seal for sealing a gap between a rotatable and non-rotatable machine part. The seal comprises at least one static seal ring to be attached to the non-rotatable machine part and provided with a slide ring and at least one counter ring to be fastened to the rotatable machine part and provided with a slide ring. The static seal ring and the counter ring are thereby arranged to be fastened in such a way that the slide surfaces of the slide rings are tightly pressed against each other. In order to simplify the structure of the seal the counter ring and the static seal ring are mutually replaceable sealing modules.

  • Patent number: 4813688
Abstract: A sealing flange for fastening a slide ring seal of a rotatable shaft to an unrotatable wall. The sealing flange includes an annular fastening element provided with fastening points for bolt fastening in the vicinity of the outer periphery thereof. The inner periphery of the fastening element includes a projection in which a counter surface for fastening a part of the slide ring seal is provided on a peripheral surface extending in the radial plane. In order to provide a simple fastening with advantageous manufacturing costs, the annular fastening element is a separate part. The projection is formed in a separate fitting ring fitted on the inner periphery of the fastening element.

  • Patent number: 4773655
Abstract: The invention relates to a slide ring seal for sealing a shaft rotatable with respect to a wall, which seal comprises a body portion and seal rings provided with slide rings, which seal rings are so arranged with respect to each other that the sealing slide faces of the slide rings are pressed against each other and rotate with respect to each other. Each slide ring is fastened in the seal ring thereof by a shrink fit, whereby the peripheral face of the slide ring is in engagement with a face provided on the seal ring, so that the radial press force of the shrink fit is directed to act on a centroid of the cross-sectional area of the slide ring. In order to ensure that the forces of the shrink fit keep acting accurately on the centroid of the cross-sectional area of the slide ring, at least one of the faces which are in engagement with each other in the shrink fit is convex.

  • Patent number: 4700953
Abstract: The invention relates to a slide-ring seal which comprises a frame portion provided with connections for a sealing liquid and seal rings (4) provided with slide rings (5). Each slide ring (5) is thereby fastened in place by means of a shrinkage fit. In order to provide a better wearability and a better sealing effect, each seal ring (4) is formed by two ring portions (7, 8) which are fastened on each other by means of a radial shrinkage fit. The slide ring (5) is essentially L-shaped in cross-section so that the slide ring is provided with at least two supporting surfaces (9, 10) extending in parallel with the sliding surface. A radial clearance (11) is provided between the outer periphery of the slide ring (5) and the inner surface of the seal ring (4). The supporting surfaces (9, 10) of the slide ring (5) are supported on the seal ring (4), whereby the slide ring (5) is fastened on the seal ring (4) solely by an axial press fit.

  • Patent number: 4688806
Abstract: A slide ring seal for sealing the gap between a rotatable shaft (1) and a fixed wall (2) to separate a space (3) for a pressure fluid from the external space (4). The slide ring seal comprises at least one seal ring (5) mounted on a fixed wall or a shaft and at least one face ring (6) secured to said shaft or fixed wall. The seal ring and face ring are provided with sealing slide surfaces that are axially pressed against one another. Moreover, the seal ring is mounted on said fixed wall or shaft through a bellows member (7). To achieve a slide ring seal being reliable in operation and having controlled sealing properties, the bellows member (7) is isolated from the space (3) for the pressure fluid by means of a sealed space (9). Said sealed space (9) is further connected to a regulable pressure source (11) by means of a conduit (10).

  • Patent number: 4613142
Abstract: A slide-ring seal for sealing a shaft rotating with respect to a wall. The slide-ring sealing comprises a frame portion provided with connections for a sealing liquid and seal rings (4) provided with slide rings (5), which seal rings are so positioned with respect to each other that the sealing slide surfaces of the slide rings (5) are pressed against each other and rotate with respect to each other. Each slide ring (5) is thereby fastened on the seal ring (4) thereof by means of a shrinkage fit in such a manner that a radial press force (F.sub.K) of the shrinkage fit is wholly directed to act on the center of mass (K) of the cross-sectional area of the slide ring (5). In order to prevent distortion of the slide surface of the slide ring (5), an axial force (F.sub.L) created by deformations of the seal ring is wholly directed to act on the center of mass (K) of the cross-section of the slide ring (5).

  • Patent number: 4466293
Abstract: A volume flow meter for the measurement of the flow quantity of a liquid, which meter comprises a cylindrical flow channel (3), which has an inlet point (10) and an outlet point (12) for passing the liquid to be measured through the measurement channel. In the measurement channel, there is an axially moving, spring-loaded indicator piston (4), which is shifted by the liquid in the measurement channel into different positions depending on the flow quantities. In the wall of the measurement channel, there is an outflow slot (27) for the liquid, which slot becomes deeper from the inlet point to the outlet point. The meter is provided with a reversing valve (17), so the flow of the liquid to be measured can be guided through the by-passing channel (26) to the opposite side (3') of the indicator piston (4), as seen from the inlet point (10), so as to shift the indicator piston towards the inlet point. This movement of the indicator piston wipes the wall of the measurement channel clean from impurities.

  • Patent number: 4424973
Abstract: A single-acting slide sealing for a liquid pump or similar. The sealing comprises a rotating counter ring (8) to be fastened to a rotating machine part (2) and a non-rotating sealing ring (9) to be supported on a stationary machine part (1). The sliding surface in the counter ring is sealingly pressed against the sliding surface in the sealing ring. The sliding surface in the sealing ring (9) is provided with a weakened part (15) which, through a channel (14) in the sealing ring, is in flow connection with a leak indicator (17), such as an electrical or mechanical indicator instrument (21), which, when the weakened part is worn through, is activated by the action of liquid entering into the channel and in advance indicates that the sealing ring is worn and must be replaced.
