Abstract: A press for removing water from masses containing materials of organic origin. The press has a compression chamber (2) with a perforated mantle. The discharge end of the compression chamber contains a piston part (3), which is reciprocable in relation to the compression chamber and movable in and out and through which (6) the mass discharges from the compression chamber. The invention is suitable for use, for example, for drying sludges resulting from sewage treatment.
