  • Patent number: 6158950
Abstract: A coupler attached to the articulating arm linkage of an excavator may be coupled to a bucket or other work implement, the coupler having a rotator carried between and rotatable relative to a pair of body parts. The rotator has an elongated channel for receiving a pin of the work implement and carries a crank which may be manually turned or moved by a hydraulic cylinder to drive the rotator. In one position, the channel is open for permitting entry and removal of the pin and in other positions is closed to lock the pin from exiting. The coupler includes another pin receiving slot so that a second pin of the work implement may be received. The slot and the channel of the rotator in the open position are inclined relative to one another. The crank in one embodiment has a number of projections for cooperating with elements of a hand operated lever to drive the rotator. When the hand operated lever is not in use, it may be stored conveniently within the coupler to serve as a locking device.

  • Patent number: 5450956
Abstract: An adjustable, telescopic, carrying and storage case of variable and fixed length includes a hollow adjustable, telescopic front member of variable length and a hollow adjustable, telescopic rear member of variable length that can be separated or connected tightly. The case is adjustable in length and can be used at a maximum length and at a minimum length for ease in transportation. The case is preferably used for carrying and storing different items including telescopic fishing rod assemblies. The telescopic front member comprises a first container portion and a plurality of adjustable front telescopic locking sections which are placed in an interlocking relationship through a plurality of annular tapered locking surfaces and a number of annular locking surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4564737
Abstract: A machine for automatically marking a tire tread pattern on a model block or blank prototype tire having a cylindrical-curved surface of a progressively decreasing radius. A plurality of model blocks or a blank tire is mounted on a turntable which rotates at a predetermined constant speed. A laser beam emanating from a laser in a predetermined series of pulses following a raster approach is directed by optic assemblies against the slowly rotating curved surface to form a series of dots which define the tire tread pattern. The laser is pulsed by a computer which stores the tire tread pattern and interprets the pulses from a rotary encoder. One of the optic assemblies moves vertically to have the laser beam scan the curved surface and another optic assembly moves horizontally to keep the laser beam in focus by following the crown or surface curvature. A raster is traced by the laser beam on the curved surface with a raster line denoting one cycle or convolution of the helix.

  • Patent number: 4340227
Abstract: A golf club set comprising a plurality of differing club heads with individual alphanumeric designations and each having an attached shank of predetermined length differing in correspondence with the differing alphanumeric designations of the club heads, a handle including a shaft of predetermined fixed length, and complementary threaded members carried by the shaft and the several club head shanks for releasably attaching the club heads individually to the handle. In a golf club set of predetermined dexterity, either left-handed or right-handed, the angle of twist of the threaded member is opposite to such dexterity such that the threaded members are self-locking in use. The club set also includes a bag with accessory-carrying pouch and adjustable shoulder strap.
