Patent number: 4573739Abstract: Hinge structures are disclosed which are useful in seats with adjustable krests, the structures including a gear unit (6, 8) in which indented and protruding tooth systems (6a, 8a) are punched into the hinge pieces using the precision blanking process, the diameter as well as the tooth contour of the protruding tooth system (8a) being at least partially smaller than the diameter and the tooth contour of the associated indented tooth system (6a) so that material can then flow from the unused tooth system produced during precision blanking and into the effective tooth system, thus enlarging the tooth width (b) of the effective tooth system to be greater than the thickness (d) of the initial material. See FIGS. 4a and 5a.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 1983Date of Patent: March 4, 1986Assignee: P. A. Rentrop, Hubbert & Wagner Fahrzeugausstatungen GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Willi Schottker

Patent number: 4572468Abstract: A seat includes a device for adjusting the position of a seat part relative o its support. The device is operated by a rotary knob which rotates a pinned disc of a lantern wheel gearing arrangement. The pins of the disc cooperate with teeth of a gear wheel which is connected to a pinion that rolls on a toothed segment articulated to the seat support. The teeth of the gear wheel are constructed so that reaction forces due to contact between the flanks and the pins are directed so as to pass through the rotational axis of the disc. Therefore no torque is applied to the disc and it remains stable.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1983Date of Patent: February 25, 1986Assignee: P. A. Patent number: 4483504Abstract: A vehicle seat (see FIG.1) is slidably supported by two pairs of slide ra, each rail of each pair having the same cross-section. For both pairs each rail (1,2) includes a U-shaped portion and an offset flange. The flange of one rail (2) engages in the U-shaped portion of the other rail and vice versa. Ball bearings may be accommodated in a space between the two rails and a locking latch may be provided to lock the rails of one pair with respect to one another. The two rails are thus double interlocked so as to resist separation for example in the event of a road accident. Also expense is reduced because the two rails are of similar cross-section.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1981Date of Patent: November 20, 1984Assignee: P. A. Patent number: 4390328Abstract: A fluid driving or fluid driven machine includes an outer cylinder housing stationary piston. The piston includes a generally annular flexible band of smaller circumference than the inner circumference of the cylinder, and a rotary body accommodated within the band. The rotary body has three rollers for urging the band against the inner surface of the cylinder at three angularly spaced locations so that the band defines with the cylinder three working chambers. Two separating members mounted on the cylinder are biased into contact with the band. When the rotary body is rotated the band makes nonslip contact with the wall and rotates the working chambers about the axis of the rotary body. Each separating member separates each working chamber as it passes into two discrete enclosures. A port is located on each side of each separating member to allow communication with the two discrete enclosures. The machine can be operated as a compressor when the rotary body is driven or as an engine to drive the rotary body.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1980Date of Patent: June 28, 1983Assignee: P. A.
