Abstract: In a particular embodiment, a process transmitter includes a corrosion resistive housing including a flange portion, where the corrosion resistive housing is formed from a first material. The process transmitter also includes an outer ring formed from a second material. The outer ring has an inner diameter and is brazed to the flange portion. The process transmitter further includes a deformable diaphragm formed from a third material, the deformable diaphragm is welded to the outer ring at a weld seam between the diaphragm and the outer ring adjacent to the inner diameter to form a fluid seal.
Abstract: A press-fit remote diaphragm assembly includes a diaphragm member and a mounting portion which can be press-fit assembled by hand and without the use of tools. The diaphragm member includes a flexible diaphragm and a first press-fit member receiving portion. The mounting portion includes a second press-fit member receiving portion. The first and second press-fit member receiving portions align to form a press-fit member cavity which contains a press-fit member. The press-fit member engages the first and second press-fit member receiving portions to couple the diaphragm member to the mounting portion.
Abstract: A remote diaphragm assembly, for use in the process control industry, is disclosed which can be quickly assembled and disassembled by press-fitting a diaphragm housing and an adapter housing together. The diaphragm housing includes a flexible diaphragm and a first retention ring receiving portion. The adapter housing is configured to place the flexible diaphragm in fluid communication with a process fluid in a vessel and includes a second retention ring receiving portion. The first and second retention ring receiving portions align to form a retention ring cavity. A retention ring is positioned within the retention ring cavity such that portions of the retention ring occupy the first and second retention ring receiving portions to couple the diaphragm housing to the adapter housing. Also disclosed is a method for assembling the above-described remote diaphragm assembly.
