Abstract: A ski-boot comprising an outer rigid shell, to receive the user's foot, and a rigid bootleg, shaped to wrap round the user's ankle, is hinged on the top part of the shell in order to be able to swing about a first reference axis that locally substantially coincides with the articulation axis of the user's ankle; the shell having a front half-shell and a rear half-shell rigidly fixed to one another; the front half-shell having a substantially ogival shape for covering the user's toe substantially up to the beginning of the plantar arch area of the foot and being made of at least one plastic polymer by injection moulding; the rear half-shell being designed to completely cover the remaining part of the foot, starting substantially from the plantar arch area of the foot and being made of a composite material containing fibres embedded in a resin matrix.
Abstract: The invention relates to a connecting method or a connecting arrangement for clamping at least one first and one second component (1, 2) to be clamped with each other, in particular with a connection by force on all sides. The connecting arrangement has at least one first and one second component (1, 2) to be connected with a connection by force on all sides, a through opening (20) of the components, a bolt (3) extending from the first component (1) through the through opening (20), a clamping nut (4) which is screwed on the bolt (3) for clamping the components (1, 2), and a cone pair (8) comprising an inner cone (60) with a split (8) and an outer cone (50). One part of this cone pair is formed as a conical clamping element (5), which is arranged and axially moveable for radial clamping on the bolt between the components and the clamping nut.
Abstract: A platform screen door system (11) for railway stations, comprising: a set of uprights (13) defining a plurality of gates therebetween; a horizontal beam (17) associated with the top of said uprights (13); a set of sliding doors (15) arranged between said uprights (13) so as to close said gates, said sliding doors being horizontally slidable relative to said uprights so as to define a corresponding passageway (P) in said gates.
Abstract: A clamping device with overload protection and a process to connect both elements, which are to be connected, whereby the clamping device is fitted with an element to be connected first, an element to be connected second, which is connected to the first element, and a bracing bolt to connect.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for capturing a low depth of focus image with a video camera (10) by forming a first image of a scene, with a first image format size, onto a projection area (16), housed inside an adaptor, and forming another image of the scene, with a second smaller image format size onto a semiconductor sensor field (28), housed inside the video camera (10). The invention further relates to configuring the projection area (16) to prevent non-image characteristics of the projection area from being imaged in a disturbing manner onto the semiconductor sensor field (28). The projection area is either movable with respect to the first image or encapsulated by clear filter glass, or both to prevent the non-image characteristics from being imaged in a disturbing manner. The adaptor includes an adaptor housing (30?) for attaching to the video camera (10) and the adaptor housing houses the projection area (16) and a first objective lens (12).
Abstract: A closure for a container having a mouth wherein the closure is adapted for sealable connection to the mouth of the container and includes an end wall at the upper end of the skirt for closing the mouth when the closure is mounted to the container. The closure includes an opening in the end wall for dispensing a product held by the container and a first flap that has at least one flap aperture that is smaller than the opening. The first flap is adapted for selectively opening and closing the opening. A second flap is adapted for overlaying the first flap and includes a first state wherein one or more of the flap apertures in the first flap are open and a second state wherein the flap apertures in the first flap are sealed.
Abstract: A toy figurine USB flash drive comprising a casing in the form of a toy figurine which is divided into a body casing which has a torso with four limbs and a head casing which can be connected with or removed from the neck area of the torso; a printed circuit board (PCB) which is disposed inside the torso; a standard type-A USB connector one end of it is mounted on the PCB and the other end of it protrudes from the neck area of the torso and can be covered by the head casing; a USB mass storage controller which is mounted on the PCB to drive the onboard memory; a NAND flash memory chip which is mounted on the PCB to store data; and a crystal oscillator which is mounted on the PCB to control data output through a phase-locked loop; wherein: the four limbs are pivotally connected to the torso forming the two arms and the two legs of the toy figurine, each of the arms can be rotated and raised above the shoulder to rest against the neighboring surface of a USB port into which the USB connector is plugged for supp
Abstract: Described herein is a transport tank trailer having a tank that can be used to more completely and effectively transport, store, load and unload a viscous product, such as a viscous liquid product, or liquid with solid(s) in suspension. Materials for transport, storing, loading and unloading include both food-grade and non-food grade products. Exemplary products include chocolate, paint, wastes, and asphalt. The tank system involves: a) agitation means (e.g., vibration devices) to force viscous product to flow during unloading; b) a heat-traced closed loop venting and unloading system resulting in the elimination of opening of the manhole on the tanker, which results in the release of heat; c) use of enhanced insulating materials to reduce product solidification during product discharge; and d) reduction of thermal bridges to increase product heat retention. The invention also involves an inventive cargo tank shape that promotes viscous product discharge during unloading of the tank.

Abstract: A chair (1), in particular a dentist's chair, which has a seat (3) and a backrest (2) which are connected with each other by means of a hinge (6) consisting of two movable parts in the from of an inner ring (8) and an outer ring (7) disposed concentrically therewith. The inner ring (8) is secured to the seat (3), while the outer ring (7) is secured to the sear (3). The outer side of the inner ring (8) engages the inner side of the outer ring (7), a ball bearing (11, 12) being mounted between the inner ring (8) and the outer ring (7). The invention provides a dentist's chair where the armrest follows the movement of a user's back.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for processing images of irregularly shaped objects, such as biological specimens, in particular of human or animal origin, or images thereof. The metric quantification of a biological body part or tissue or of an abnormal material spot or aggregate contained therein is also performed by means of the invention method. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for processing images of irregularly shaped objects, comprising a stage of acquisition of a digital image of said object, a stage of image elaboration (IMAEL) for quantifying said digital image to 1 bit and a stage of metrical processing of said 1-bit quantized image, wherein said stage of metrical processing comprises: —) a stage of object's metrical quantification (QUANT) for determining Euclidean perimeter P and/or area A of said object; —) a stage of dimensional calculation (DIM-CLC) for calculating a fractal-corrected perimeter Pf and/or area Af of said object.

Abstract: A by-pass and pressure regulator valve exhibiting: an inlet mouth and an outlet mouth set in reciprocal communication by a main conduit; a by-pass mouth. The by-pass and pressure regulator valve comprises: an obturator, mobile between at least a closed position, in which it interrupts fluid communication between the main conduit and the by-pass mouth, and at least an open position, in which the fluid communication is not interrupted; operating pressure control means, predisposed to move the obturator from the closed position; means for determining a flow pressure loss in fluids crossing the main conduit, arranged along the main conduit in order to separate a first tract upstream of the main conduit from a second tract downstream thereof; obturator command means governed by a fluid pressure difference between the first tract and the second tract of the main conduit, distinct from the operating pressure control means but operatively connected to the obturator.
