  • Patent number: 9879568
Abstract: Method for coupling a first heat-requiring industrial process to a second cold-requiring industrial process, whereby a first circuit for energy recovery (1) from the first industrial process transfers heat to a second circuit for cold production (2) for the second industrial process, wherein the first circuit for energy recovery (1) the energy carrier is a binary mixture of water and ammonia that has two-phases and is compressed by a compressor (7) specifically suitable for compressing a two-phase fluid such as a compressor with a Lysholm rotor or equipped with vanes, whereby all or part of the liquid phase evaporates as a result of compression such that overheating does not occur and such that less working energy must be supplied.

  • Patent number: 5163929
Abstract: An ocular treatment apparatus for applying medicament into an eye has a vial defining a vial cavity for holding medicament. A nozzle is attached over an opening in the vial and is in fluid communication with the vial cavity for releasing drops of medicament. A piston member is suspended within the vial and slideably engaged within the vial cavity for displacing a substantially predetermined volume of medicament through the nozzle for release into the eye.

  • Patent number: 5133702
Abstract: An apparatus for applying medicament to an eye has an inner casing and an outer casing coupled to the inner casing and moveable relative thereto. An eyecup is supported on one end of the inner casing. The eyecup defines a surface shaped to conformably engage the facial tissue surrounding an eye. An ocular vial supported with the inner casing. The ocular vial holds medicament for release into an eye. An eyelid displacing member is coupled to the outer casing and slideably mounted through the inner casing. The eyelid displacing member includes a depresser tab adapted to engage the facial tissue below an eye. The depresser tab engages the facial tissue upon moving the outer casing toward the inner casing, thus displacing the lower eyelid to expose the ocular cul-de-sac. A dispensing member is supported by the outer casing. The dispensing member is adapted to actuate the ocular vial upon moving the outer casing toward the inner casing, to release medicament onto the exposed ocular cul-de-sac of the eye.

  • Patent number: 4644105
Abstract: A communication switch circuit is provided by which quasi-duplex communication may be had between a telephone party and a mobile unit in a simplex two-way radio communication system. Specifically, the communication switch circuit includes (i) a keying circuit to selectively energize a transmitter and (ii) an interrupt circuit to intermittently, temporarily deenergize the transmitter to permit reception from a mobile unit. The communication switch circuit further includes a control circuit which prevents reenergizing of the transmitter if a signal is received from a mobile unit while the transmitter is temporarily deenergized thereby permitting a mobile unit to interrupt the telephone party and interject a comment. The communication switch circuit also includes control circuits which permit a mobile unit to initiate and terminate calls.
