Abstract: An receptacle and a blank for forming a receptacle carrier for packaging fragile articles includes a plurality of side wall panels hinged together to form a collapsible upright tubular structure for receiving an article and article support structure at the lower end of the tubular structure for supporting the article. The support structure has a plurality of displaceable strips secured together such that when the tubular structure is erected from a flat collapsed form, the displaceable strips are automatically displaced into the tubular structure to form the supporting structure.
Abstract: A carton for holding one or more articles, for example light bulbs, includes an article engaging panel having at least one retaining aperture provided in the engaging panel for receiving and retaining at least one article such that one portion of the at least one article protrudes therethrough, a pair of opposed side walls extending upwardly from the engaging panel to shield the one portion and terminating at the respective free upper edges of the side walls to allow access to the one portion, and a cover arrangement for containing the other portion of the at least one article. The side walls extends away from the cover arrangement. The cover arrangement includes a series of hingedly interconnected panels including a pair of opposed terminal panels. The terminal panels of the cover arrangement are connected to the side walls respectively to form a tubular structure for enveloping the other portion of the at least one article.
Abstract: An article carrier and a blank for forming an article carrier for holding a plurality of articles, for example bottles. The carrier comprises a plurality of wall panels for forming a tubular structure. The wall panels include a pair of side wall panels, one of which is provided with a reinforcing tab hingedly connected thereto along an article-retaining edge of a first aperture for receiving an article. The reinforcing tab is folded to underlie the one side wall panel to provide a two-ply structure adjacent the article-retaining edge.
Abstract: The present invention provides a bag-in-box packaging system having a paperboard box having sidewalls defining an interior chamber, and a flexible polymeric container positioned within the sidewalls of the box. The container having sidewalls sealed together along a peripheral edge to define a fluid chamber therebetween, the container having a dispensing fitment attached to a sidewall, the container further having a supplemental seam to direct fluid in an area proximate the fitment.
Abstract: An article carrier and a blank for an article carrier for holding an article, for example a tray, comprising a top wall, opposed side walls and a base wall hingedly connected together to form a tubular structure and wherein there further comprises an article retention structure hingedly connected to the top wall and the base panel. The article retention structure is formed by a pair of interconnected panels formed from adjacent carton walls and inwardly folded to retain the article within the carrier.
Abstract: An article carrier and a blank for an article carrier for holding articles with tapered sides, for example connected plastic cups, comprising a top wall, opposed side walls and a base wall hingedly connected together to form a tubular structure. An article retention structure is hingedly connected to one of the side walls and the base panel. The article retention structure is formed by a plurality of panels including a side end flap so constructed and arranged to taper inwardly towards the base wall to substantially conform to the shape of an adjacent article.
Abstract: A box erecting machine that can readily be set up to assemble boxes of different sizes contains pointers and scales permitting the vertical and horizontal adjustment of the box magazine, the centering of the flap folding structures, and the vertical adjustment of the box hold down plates to be readily set according to the dimensions of the box to be assembled. The vertical adjustment of the box magazine, the horizontal adjustment of the box magazine, and the centering of the flap closure apparatus are adjusted until the corresponding pointer and scale of those structures indicate the width measurement taken directly from the box. The hold down plate assembly is adjusted until the corresponding pointer and scale indicate the height of the box as measured directly therefrom. Horizontal adjustment of box magazine width and horizontal adjustment of an adjustable guide rail are performed against an actual box placed in those structures.
