  • Patent number: 11953262
Abstract: A recyclable, thermally insulated shipping container is entirely constructed from organic fiber materials in such a manner that the container is curbside recyclable without separation of component materials. The container includes a corrugated cardboard outer box having a bottom wall, a plurality of sidewalls and a top wall, a corrugated cardboard inner liner assembly comprising a corrugated cardboard inner box having a bottom wall and a plurality of sidewalls, and a corrugated cardboard lid assembly. The outer box, inner liner assembly and lid assembly cooperate to create a plurality of thermally insulated cavities which are filled and uniformly packed with predetermined volumes of loose-fill cellulose (organic fiber) insulation to create a predetermined insulating value. The container provides a fully insulated six-sided product cavity to receive a temperature-controlled product. A portion of the product cavity may be filled with a PCM or other thermal media to provide a consistent temperature profile.

  • Patent number: 11857496
Abstract: A temperature-controlled shipper for shipping diagnostic blood samples is disclosed. The shipper must remain at a temperature between 6° C. and 37° C. for up to 24 hours while in transit. The shipper includes identical mating PCM blow-molded bottles which enclose and protect diagnostic blood sample vials. Identical mating clamshell insulating containers further enclose and protect the PCM bottles. Both the bottles and clamshell containers can be re-used. A dual PCM liquid suspension is utilized in the PCM bottles and is preconditioned and stored at a single temperature.

  • Publication number: 20230249896
Abstract: A temperature controller shipper for shipping temperature sensitive products. A plurality of individual product boxes contained in an inner mastercase each include a lyophilized product with low thermal mass. The plurality of product boxes each contain a unique PCM thermal dunnage insert occupying the normally empty space within the product box. The PCM insert artificially increases the thermal mass within each product box, and the added thermal mass enables an outer volume of thermal material, e.g. a PCM bladder or bricks, to be minimized to reduce the overall shipper volume and weight.

  • Publication number: 20220267657
Abstract: A dual PCM liquid suspension is formed by blending a liquid phase change material having a first phase change temperature, a microencapsulated phase change material having a second phase change temperature, a thickening agent, and a surfactant and heating the blended materials for a period of time to form a permanent liquid suspension. PCM liquid suspension behaves as a viscous liquid and may be filled in PCM bottles with conventional liquid filling equipment. The PCM liquid suspension may be preconditioned and stored at a single temperature.
