Patent number: 7251245Abstract: The invention relates to a router or switch in a broadband network operating through packet flow forwarding. The router provides a CPU switched software flow (12) and a hardware switched accelerated flow (10) in accordance with Hierarchical Flow Forwarding (HEF) by utilizing a mutual flow table (20) partitioned into at least a hardware part (22), an intermediate part (24) and a software part (26) for flow forwarding. The table is examined on a regular basis determined by a time period, and sorted by the ratio of number of packets per time period. It is filled up with the highest ratios in the hardware part (22, 22a), the intermediate ratios in the intermediate part (24, 22a, 26a) and the lowest ratios in the software part (26). Those packet flows that qualified for the intermediate flow (22a, 26a) in a previous examining remain in their memory space if they still qualify for the intermediate part (24).Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2002Date of Patent: July 31, 2007Assignee: Packetfront Sweden ABInventor: Andreas Öman

Patent number: 7174371Abstract: The invention provides an arrangement and a method with dynamic port configuration of network equipment for communication in a broadband network. A central managing database in connection with a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol server is keeping templates with recordings of network equipment parameters for their physical port settings and deployed services. Hence, enabling dynamic updating of port settings by conveying parameter recordings from the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol server. The parameter settings are updated in the intermediate means.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2002Date of Patent: February 6, 2007Assignee: Packetfront Sweden ABInventors: Anders Elo, Andreas Öman, Magnus Lundström

Patent number: 6839232Abstract: In a heat dissipating internally fan-less housing (20) for electronic circuits and components (28), the housing has an assembly of two container (10) parts comprising heat-sink fins (12). Each part has a substantially diagonal (14) shaped profile. In the housing, a circuit-board (29) is mounted along the diagonal (14) profile thus providing that the long-side ends of the circuit-board (29) on each side of the board are covered by a greater mass of heat-sink fins (12) compared to a horizontally mounted circuit board for a better cooling of components.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2003Date of Patent: January 4, 2005Assignee: PacketFront Sweden ABInventors: Anders Elo, Jörgen Eriksson, Niclas Sonesson
