Abstract: An apparatus for the application of bone cement is described having a housing that comprises a cylinder for the reception of the bone cement. The apparatus further comprises a piston arranged in a longitudinally displaceable manner in the cylinder, by which the bone cement can be pressed out of an exit aperture formed in the cylinder, wherein the piston is longitudinally displaceable in the cylinder by a screw movement to apply the bone cement under high pressure. The apparatus can be switched between the displacement of the piston by the screw movement and a direct displacement in the longitudinal direction without a screw movement. Furthermore, a cannula for such an apparatus is described.
